Thank you! It's all wood, Margo. It's painted and stenciled.

I've been enjoying creating things lately. I made a blown glass ornament last week in a class. It was really cool. My friends and I enjoyed it. We each got to put a chunk of 'glass' on a pipe into the fire and roll it in the colored bits, then we blew into the pipe and the teacher cut it off the end for us. It had to cool in an oven slowly overnight so it didn't crack. I will get to see the final product tomorrow. I'm excited to see it.
I've also started taking a pottery class. I've made a few things, but none of them from beginning to end just yet. I should have my first piece that I made from scratch done in a couple of weeks. It takes a long time because there are so many waiting times between all the steps.

Cool!
Blowing glass is something I would like to try.
On my end I am knitting like crazy. I always said I was a selfish knitter but lately I am failing on that score and agreed to a few not so subtle Xmas requests.

I love pottery. When my son was little, I took a pottery class for a weekly break. The teacher was amazing and we all became quite enthusiastic about it. We even had a raku firing out at my place. My piece exploded in the raku kiln. I called it my "booby cup" because it had boobs and a clitoris.
The teacher enrolled at a nearby college for a pottery class and we all followed suit. I never even got to start because we ended up moving here. I did find a class here a few years later, but it wasn't the same feeling. It was something about the synergy of the instructor and students that made it fun.

So far I painted the walls, and started on the counter, bar stools, and made some of the little accessories. I know it's nowhere near perfect, but it's so much fun! A lot of work though, even for something like the stool you have all those tiny parts that you have to cut and bend and glue together, and you have to cut out paper that looks like wood to paste on the plain wooden parts so that it looks nice. It has already taken me several hours just to complete these bits. I put a lip balm next to it for size.

Sorry! I missed this, Cherie. They are just little wooden pieces with feet stickies on the bottom.

Wow, Peggy! That is really impressive. It's so cute! It looks like it would be a lot of work and difficult because it is so tiny and detailed.

It said on the website it's 20 hours of work, but only these parts took me at least 5 hours already.

Still pretty! ;o)

I think I'll make another and try to make the chains smaller so it's a tighter knit. I have plenty of yarn left over.

Hard to think about doing right now though. It was 101 here in Oregon today.

I made a few things between my last two posts, but always forget to post here. I made a lazy susan that looks similar to the little pedestal thing I posted, a leash holder, and some pottery stuff. I'll try to remember to post some of it.

Knitting is easier than it looks. And a chunky blanket is a good 1st projet. Go for it!!!
Says the girl that has not knit more than a few hours in the last month. My yearly sock knitting competition burned me out I think.

Your chunky blanket looks amazing Kristie! I love the colours.

Amanda, I don't actually know how to knit. I've never done it before. This one didn't use any needles. It was just done with my hands.

Pottery is something I would like to try some day too."
same here. Too many things to try, not enough time...
I am going to spend my weekend upcycling/saving/creating outdoor furniture. Trying to reuse what I have.

Thanks! I actually rolled the clear glass into little colored glass pellets. Then, you reheat it together and roll it smooth before blowing it out into a glass. I made my glass a little bigger than average. lol Not saying I want extra wine or anything, but the option is there. ;)
