Non-SF Recommendations for Way Station?

Does anybody have any recommendations for non-science-fiction books similar to Way Station by Clifford Simak?

I am not sure how to separate Simak from Science Fiction other than to put him in a "pastoral" category. Try to google "pastoral novels."

Wish I could, b/c I'd love to read them. Simak was wonderful. So I'm hoping somebody else can answer this.
