Just using the titles of books to plug in to a Mad Lib, without knowing what the Mad Lib says until you're read all the categories and hit show spoiler might work.
Marla said you could put the actual verbage under a spoiler and just list what we need to find: Noun [1], Someone's Name, Noun [2], Location/Place, Prepositional Phrase, Food, Mode of Transportation, etc.
I think this would be a lot of fun, but I'm not sure how to see it come about. :)

Hi Christina,
When we started RPG it was supposed to be yearly game and it would reset on new year with starting from beginning. But after a while (and after comments from players) it was decided it would just continue.
When you decide you want to start playing. Stop by our Tavern for pint. That is also good place in case you have any questions. Other heroes are very helpful and will answer all your questions.
Then create your tracking thread (or one of mods can do it for you) and check Notice board for ongoing quests. And you are ready for your adventure :)

Thanks so much for answering my question! It was really helpful. I'm going out of town til the 4th and was afraid I would have to rush to set something up by the beginning of the year. Now I know I can just take my time and get to it when I get home :)

For instance....In L.A. County Jail, word is you can trade 200 cigarettes for _____.
Answers could be
Blood in Her Veins: Nineteen Stories from the World of Jane Yellowrock
Half-Made Girls
Cat-O'nine Tails
Another example: What ended my last relationship?
Answers:
Guilty Pleasures
Doing Hard Time
Pride

For instance....In ..."
That's an interesting idea... will run through the mod squad :)

1 book per week
Posts per book:
-A review
-A recomendation, and
-Status updates (1 per day)
We could have a seperate forum dedicated to just this? Have people commit for at least 3 weeks and see what they think?

One- Spell out poisonous plants (there were some out there I didn't know that they were poisonous like Lily of the Valley)
Two- Most haunted places this could be a spell out or read a book that takes place in the haunted place. There are a lot of haunted places all over the world.
EX: Salem
you could read Wicked Girls it takes place during the witch trails. or you could read a book about Salem. Or Spell out Salem. Or read a book that has a witch character.

Could either be 1,000 books, 1 set in each of those places and/or about each of those places (people could also mix and match). I'm interested in doing it myself, but would help to do it as a group, because will need to help each other to find ones for some of the places on the list!
Are these all individual challenges?

As the title of the thread suggests this is a place for rules regarding creating challenges in this thread!

I picked up a Megan Abbott today from the top shelf of my library’s first shelving unit. Not sure if I’ll do each shelf though because I don’t particularly like Patterson, Nora Roberts, or Danielle steel and they have tons of shelves to themselves!
What's the page count requirement for these challenges?

Each challenge you do has its own page challenge requirements. You just need to check the rules of the challenge you are participating in.

I thought I might stick to it better if I had a challenge going here.
Am I allowed to put one up? My rules would be simple: no political debate, open ended challenge, back dating books allowed. Easy peasy.

HI Mary;
Copied and pasted from the rules:
2) If creativity hits you, we ask you run it by us just to make sure it fits our group. Most likely it'll be fine, but if there was some conflict, we'd hate for you to go through the trouble of writing it up and having us remove it.
If there is anything you would to add to your post send it to the mod account!

That works too. Individuals no longer post challenges; we love ideas from members and take them to all the mods and discuss the challenge idea. If its a go we give credit to the individual who designed the challenge.

Has anyone thought of a challenge in which you would read a book published in every year of your life? For example, I was born in 1963, so I would read 53 books, one published in each year from 1963 to 2015. No time limit.
