I list my Cardinal Meadows saga at tuesdayserial.com and there's another site at Friday serial. Tuesday serial is really into promoting the serial story and the authors who produce it.
I've been plotting and planning several new serial fiction series since 2009 and am finally ready to release them after much research and study. Excited!
Wow. New to group.Useful info here! :)
I had no idea where to get word out about my webserial.
Now i have lots to start workin with.
Thanks guys! :)
How exactly does Watt pad work? Can you link your account to your blog? I'm a little slow in the uh... Hmmm. computer department :) Thanks. Noel
Wattpad posts to its own platform (so you can read online or download an app). I usually copy paste my blog copy intent Wattpad and do a bit of minor reformatting to get my stuff read there.
Im not allowed to post my published work anywhere but with JukePop Serials for a period of six months, so ill be using Wattpad(and others) only for excerpts and links to said work on JukePop Serials. Just another group of places my work will appear and hopefully help lead people to JukePop. :)
Great group and sooo much good information. I had no idea where to post EC until I stumbled upon you guys! THANKS SO MUCH!
I too am actually really glad I found this group. I love writing my web serial but it's so hard to gain traction! I've done Tuesday Serial but I'm gonna go check out the others right now...
Alain - so you don't feel too badly -- Tuesday serial for me has been very poor in clickthroughs since I started with them earlier in the year. (The only appreciable traffic came after I did a blogpost about Wattpad there.) My recommendation is to try to at least get yourself linked in the other directories as soon as you can. Those seem to have better audience reach --

I tried adding my blog to muses success a few months ago but I've not received any noticeable traffic from them. Does that site require that I be more active?
muses success is also not very trafficked either. I did a compare on the directories and WFG has the most traffic but compared to fiction press it is small potatoes
I did not have success with getting my serial listed over at Web Fiction Guide--because you have to register (for free) to read it at JukePop Serials, WFG thought the link was broken. There's no way around that, so I didn't bother trying again.I've received some traffic from Tuesday Serial, but none from Muse's Success that I'm aware of.
Beth, I send an email to WFG about registration, and they said that it wasn't an issue. You might want to try again.BTW: I love your serial!
There are also many indie reviewers out there. Even if they only have ten followers, a good review stays on the internet forever. then again, so does a bad one, and many reviers, if they dont like your story, will go out of their way to ridicule it. Make sure a reviewer is decent before you contact him/her.
I've tried all of the above, and honestly, the best luck I've had is in networking through twitter with #fridayflash and #tuesdayserial and such. You want people to read your work, you gotta read their work, and then maybe MAYBE you'll build an audience. Also, I took a hiatus (well two), and I lost the majority of my readers. But what can you do? I've yet to tap into the audience that just reads. Most of my readers are would be writers who just want me to read their stuff. Good luck!thesmellcollector.wordpress.com
Hey, I really appreciate the listing. I've been ripping the internet apart looking for places to politely list my serial. Thanks!
FYA - I'm keeping the list more updated at http://theonlinenovel.wordpress.com/2... . If I'm missing anything please comment on that post, will gladly add directories or magazines.
This is a seriously great discussion! I just started a serial on Jukepopserials and since I am so new to it I feel out of the loop. I'm terrible at marketing myself and often feel lost. I tried to check out webfiction guide but the site is filtered at work. I've tried TuesdaySerials but haven't seen much of a difference. I'll be sure to check out the other site and some of the serials listed here! Thanks again!
I'm placing mine on my goodreads page in my writing section. Got 1 finished called Darkness within and am planning to start an online YA horror fantasy serial soon to my page. I'm doing the first chapter right now and it'll post soon there.
Yeah, Tuesday Serial is primarily used by other authors so I get 1 hit once in a while but not much other than that. Jennifer - I would try to get listed on WFG as it is a little more consistent as a traffic source.

In case you are working on a story and wish to see it listed in a few established directories, here are a few places to check:
Webfiction Guide - http://www.webfictionguide.com
Muses Success - http://muses-success.info
EpiGuide - http://www.epiguide.com
TuesdaySerial - http://tuesdayserial.com (ETA: Note it has to be running currently to be posted each week.)
If you want to crosspost your work (and maintain your copyright), you may wish to consider Wattpad at http://www.wattpad.com .
