In Memory of Maureen (Mews)
I am shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic news. Maureen was such a lovely lady who I enjoyed chatting with and talking to on the Skype, her tales brought laughter to the group, she will be missed very much.Sending love and prayers to her family and to her beautiful little boy.
Oh. Then there was the time Daniel decided he was going to help mummy by cleaning the bathroom.Remember? She walked in to find him scrubbing the floor with the toilet brush?
Oh and I believe Maureen had to get her kindle replaced after the little guy jumped on it when she left on the couch.
She had a designated 'kindle shelf' that he couldn't reach after that!
Poor love would come in to rant and would be in fits of giggles after about five minutes.
Well okay. Took a bit longer than five minutes after the talc incident....
I used to like it when she would talk on Skype... Okay not been there for months, and can't remember what that was about, because I just couldn't understand her accent, especially when she would get carried away and laugh at the same time ! But that was funny to listen to it :)
Lol! I remember the toilet brush incident! Was it her dog that kept humping everything too?
I loved listening to her accent too
Oh yeah!!!Her dog! I believe he was a whippet? Can't remember his name, argh.
Started humping a pillow in the middle of one our skypes! Maureen lost it. Laughed so much she got hiccups.
There are so many lovely funny memories with Maureen but the dog was one of the best. So glad we got the chance to know her, she will always be remembered with a smile.
How sad, a very happy caring person who touched a lot of people on here. My thoughts are with her family.
Rest in Peace Maureen, so very young. Sadly missed along life's way,
quietly remembered every day...
No longer in our life to share,
but in our hearts, you're always there.
Is there any way we can get a dedicatory note of some sort into the Salmagundi? I suspect only group members and future purchasers will get the updated version but the timing seems appropriate.
I wonder, would it be better to dedicate the third trilogy to her? This one is well 'out there' now. Also, as Darren does the formatting and uploads an html file, I don't have the active file any more. Maybe, rather than have it half dedicated, we could do a proper job, as they say. I won't forget. We couldn't forget her.
That's a lovely suggestion, Andrew!
Good idea to dedicate the next book as the dedication will be there right from the start.

Oh dear, I only have one good idea a week - glad it's a really good one and people like it, but shame I got it out so early in the week...
Sadly there is no room in my schedule for self-pampering. In the next 48 hours I have a panto rehearsal, Bank of America marketing meeting and the deadline for the tentatively-titled Full Pastry Jacket.I might substitute the hot lemon and honey for some good quality whiskey though.
One of the old threads in Amazon has been bumped and I saw a post by Mews, I looked at her profile and the review she gave Darren's book, it brought tears to my eyes, this morning, bless her.
I was inviting all the forum members who are friends with me on facebook to the live event last night, and I clicked on her photo and then realised she wouldn't be coming :/So sad :(
I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sorry, I've been offline for a while and just catching up. I am so terribly sorry for her family and friends.
I am truly shocked and saddened to hear the news. I know I always appreciated her friendly bubbly posts and the daily thread. (even if I don't post a lot, I do read)
this is so very sad, I am so sorryher poor family and friends what a shock and how hard it must be to accept
Have only just caught up with this thread.I am quite stunned.
Terrible, terrible news - to die so young and so unexpectedly.
If you're still monitoring the thread, Sharron-ann, please pass on our love and good wishes to her family and friends.
ive not been on for quite a while. very sad to hear about maureen, didnt know her very well but remember seeing her name on posts. my thoughts are with her family
I've just discovered this thread. I don't think I ever interacted with Maureen, or perhaps like Rosen I just can't recall, but she was clearly a much-loved member of this group. Just reading everyone's posts makes me very sad that she is no longer with us. It's especially sad that her young son has lost his mum.Andrew and Ignite's ideas are good ones - to dedicate a group book to her. It's a lovely and appropriate way to remember someone who helped make this group what it is today.
I had to join this forum ,I met Maureen 7 or 8 years ago ,we played poker online and became very close but we drifted apart ,I have had a few problems in my life which I am now getting over and windows 8 found all my old contacts so I jumped onto facebook and found her page and sent a friends request there was very little on her page so I thought maybe she's just not active so I searched google to see if she was on twitter and found this tribute ,to say I am devastated is an understatement ,Maureen was a wonderful person ,her smile ,her laugh and just her love for others amazed me ,my thoughts go to her family especially Daniel ,please never let him forget what a wonderful person his mum was ,she touched more people than she could have ever imagined ,heaven has a new angel but that won't stop us grieving ,Rest well Maureen sweetheart xxxx
That's so sweet Martin, and glad you are getting back on top of life again. It's nice to have someone else to share memories of Maureen with, you're very welcome here.Still makes me so sad to think we'll never hear from her again.
Martin, thanks for taking the time to post here. Maureen certainly left her mark and touched all who knew her. This thread proves the point that Internet forums are full of real people.
You are most welcome to hang around. Sometimes we talk about books though.
I'm deeply saddened to see this for the first time today and sorry that I didn't see it sooner. I had to go through the old posts in my thread and read through some of our conversations together. Chinese takeaway... World of Warcraft...My heartfelt sympathies to friends and family.
Oh yes Steve she spent lots of time in your thread, didn't she?She loved your first book.
I hope she had a chance to read your second.
I know that Cornelius is truly saddened that she didn't read his third Words to the Wise book. She loved the other two. He's been saying, 'If I'd got it out sooner ...' She loved so many of our authors' works and we had great fun discussing them. Some people leave a hole in the lives of those they never even met.

Rest in Peace Maureen. You are missed by all who knew you.
