Susan (beachgal12) | 11 comments Need a super librarian privileged access for above book. There are two ebook editions listed in GR. I cannot delete one of them because there are too many readers who have marked it 'to read.' I did go in and correct all book info so now there is no difference between the 2 ebook versions, so makes no difference which one super librarian chooses to delete now. There was originally wrong pub date, wrong book #, wrong pub listed. Thanks for your time.

Susan (beachgal12) | 11 comments Sorry - thought I had put it in... 9780374185220 - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13.... I think I put the ISBN # in one field above the message that is not appearing here in thread. I will be sure to always place the ISBN into the comment section from now on. Thanks for your help. Curious how/who gets super librarian privileges.

The two ebooks have distinct ISBNs, which means neither should be deleted. We NEVER delete editions with valid ISBNs!

Banjomike | 5166 comments Susan, can I suggest that you read the librarian manual. I've noticed that some of your edits are, shall we say, a bit odd.

On this page you have deleted a book with the ISBN of 1616376031. Normally books are only deleted if they are duplicates. Since that ISBN is no longer on GR it is not obvious what you deleted or why. Also, we don't usually add "Unabridged" or "Abridged" to book titles

EDIT: I didn't see Rivka's posting. Same topic though!

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Both ebooks have valid ISBNs. We do not delete books with valid ISBNs unless we have good evidence to suggest that the edition with that ISBN was never published. ETA: Which is extremely RARE! (I think it's happened two or three times in the four years I been here.)

It is likely that one ISBN is for the US edition and the other is for the Australian, UK, and/or International edition. International publication rights are negotiated separately, and thus have to be tracked by the publisher separately. Therefore, they will each get their own ISBN.

GR includes all ISBNs of a given book, to help users find their exact edition by searching ISBN.

Thank you. I have read that twice and ref back often to sections, but I will read again. I had seen a # of CD and audio editions in GR that list Unabridged or Abridged. Assumed that was important info for GR since they will have the same ISBN # and yet be 2 different products. AudiableAudio frequently are abridged. I am using Library of Congress for reference on all ISBN #/titles except when they have no info for Kindle.

Yes, in the Edition field, not the Title field.

OK - I will not include the Unabridged in title field. As said, had been running into # of AudioCD that did list it in title. It is not part of the 'official' pub title so should not be in title line. Some pub sites will show it next to title but that is because pub web sites don't always have fields for that info as separate data entry. I am a credentialed librarian and I do work as a screen play editor so I have good background in this subject. I will switch to always using World Cat as main ref. now.

I certainly wouldn't do that. No single source is correct for everything.
