Susanne (heysus74) | 193 comments Does anyone have a recommendation for a good bluetooth headset for my Android phone? The last two I've bought put the calls through the headset, but my music and audible books continue to play through the phone's speakers.

I'm thinking it has to do with the type of bluetooth I'm getting ("cheap", I belive, is the technical term), but I'm not sure. I'd really love to be "unwired" and listen to my books through my phone -- I don't currently own any other portable player (clip, ipod, etc). The cords from my headphones just get in the way when I'm cooking, folding laundry, etc, and there are times, at work especially, when I like to keep my phone put away but still listen to my books.

Melanti | 126 comments I have these and love them: http://www.rocketfishproducts.com/pro...

They have a battery life of around 10 hours of listening (not sure on making/receiving calls/standby). My only major complaint is that you only have a couple of minutes from the first low battery beep until the headset goes completely dead.

A minor complaint is that there's a rubber piece that covers the wiring that came loose. But a few dabs of superglue fixed it fairly easily.

Rocketfish is the Best Buy store brand.
The previous model was marketed under the "Insignia" name, and the sound quality and battery life was just as good, but they are a fair amount heavier. Not a big problem unless you're listening to long stretches at a time.

Connie | 2 comments I have these, only the older version. I love them. They don't mess up my hair, I can control things from my earpiece and they are never in my way. Very comfortable.

Stephen Kennedy (sysguy) | 7 comments Both my daughter and I have these. Sound is pretty decent and they have about 8 hours of battery life. Not the most stylish but falls into your "Cheap" category.

Susanne (heysus74) | 193 comments Thanks! I ended up going to Best Buy and getting the Motorola HX550. It was $60 (I was looking for something around $30), but anything cheaper than $50 really didn't have the option to play audibooks...which is why I wanted it. My only complaint so far is the range. I don't have a large house, but it stops picking up the signal from my phone between the kitchen and my bedroom door. But since I largely wanted it so I could listen to books & podcasts at work, the short range isn't that much of an issue and the size is perfect (i.e. discrete).

I know you already purchased some but for others who may be interested I have these and I absolutely LOVE them. They are comfortable, easy to control, very highly rated on Amazon and have been trouble free: http://www.amazon.com/LG-Tone-Wireles....

I actually went wild when I bought my new Camry a few years ago and got the integrated BlueTooth option. Now I can't imagine life without it. I love getting into my car and just hitting "play" on my iPhone to hear the next chapter in my current audiobook. I just love it!
