suspense is what a author uses to keep the readers attention. Suzanne Collins uses suspense by using lots of detail and having very unexpected and surprising things happen throughout the story. An example would be on the first book when Katniss hears a cannon fire and thinks that Peeta might have just been killed by another tribute
