4:20PM Had a fairly busy day today with being out and about and doing that darn grocery thing. LOL Came home and finished Go Ask Alice. Decent read if you read it as a fiction and not a 'based on a true story' book, which it really is not. So now I think I will move onto Archetype or The Ersatz Elevator. Both should be good reads.

Corey | 1411 comments 4:10 PM Just got back home from taking a training class for CPR, I took it 2 years ago but it expired just a couple months ago, so I took it again and I passed. I'm hoping to retake the First Aid course too at some point. My Mom and I made a trip to the Library and checked out a few good books, and we're ordering pizza tonight for dinner, our little Friday night tradition, HAHA!

Hope everybody has a good weekend!

Alondra Miller 8:51 p.m. After a long week, I am so excited for tomorrow. I finally get to go book shopping!!! Woot!!

I tell you, this moratorium has been good for me. It has caused me to put books I really want, onto my Need-To-Buy list. I can only buy 5; this of course does not include freebies or kindle purchases, which also happen to be freebies. Freebies that are physical books are hard to come by, but we shall see.

I also have my own reading room, mini-library, now that my son has moved out (Navy). So, 2 new bookshelves coming soon. Woot-woot!!

Happy Weekend :)

8:16PM Read a little more today. This book, Archetype is mysterious and intriguing. The beginning was a little confusing but I am figuring things out now.

Yay Alondra, glad you will have your own little library. I know I love mine so much.

Corey it is definitely good to have those skills.

10:01AM Had a very busy weekend. Went to a cook out at our neighbors house on Saturday. It got so cold...lol Then Sunday we decided to go eat at Texas Roadhouse. I love that place. Our niece Shelby is spending the week with us for Spring Break. I did get quite a bit of reading done, so that is always good.

message 13761: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller 9:20 p.m. Not getting enough reading done, and trying to finish my current book... so, what do I do?? I start 3 more... ah well.

Alondra Miller 5:51 p.m. Waiting on BBQ wings to get done; then time to eat, relax, read, watch Walking Dead and sleep. Only 2 more days and a wake up before my mini vacay!! Woot!!

Enjoy Walking Dead Alondra! I'll probably watch the new episode tomorrow, on my DVR!

message 13764: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller With only 2 episodes left, i am sure it will be good. I may skip it because of reading the graphic novels. Not sure.

I've never read the graphic novels, but I've flipped through some if I see them on shelves at the bookstore.

What; oh, you would love them. If you love the show, you will really love the graphic novels/comics. The graphic novels is 3 comics in one; so you get a little more meat to your story. They also have compendiums out, but those are huge!

You would think.
Son and wife back from Nuc school. "No placement" on the horizon for 20 cadets going into A school. Separation was an option. He took it because they can place you on a sub doing A1 work and pay. He left at an A3. They had nothing to offer him. He checked into the Airforce bace in SC but they also have guys waiting to level up.

It's not what he had in mind but he is okay with it. He is going to go back to school and get his certification in electronics and computer science. The navy just does not have much turnover in the field he signed on for therefore he would have to take a lesser job for less money or choose to separate. No bad record and he still gets his benefits.

Happy anniversary guys!!!! You are a spectacular couple. Wishing you a great year.

Yuck! I hate that for him. There is always placement "somewhere"... ugh.

Brian is going through a slightly different issue. Hurt his knee prior to Xmas break; had surgery, and now his school is not available; and he will have to choose something else... which may be a really sucky job.

My advice: Stay in, do the sucky job and go to school full time. Once he finishes school (while in the navy); he may get the opportunity to either go officer, warrant officer, or pick another job. win-win :)

We are all old army folks... :)

2:35PM Got a new desktop computer for my anniversary, but I am having issues for some reason posting here to Good Reads and also getting my messages here. I have to come back to my laptop for this because it works here. About to pull my hair out. We have tried everything trying to figure it out. These kinds of things make me often wonder if new computers are worth the hassle. LOL Other than that....lol

I hate computers too.... I just wanna play games and get on GR. Is that too much to ask for.

I hope you guys get it figured out. Weird that it doesn't work on here. Get a kid on your computer, they will figure it out. You only need to feed them!! LOL

9:37PM So had my interview today and will know in a couple of days whether or not I get this job. I now if I do it is seriously going to cut into my reading time :/ Oh well sometimes we have to do what we have to do.

Alondra the problem seems to have worked itself out for some reason. So neither of us are sure what happened to fix the problem. LOL I guess it fixed itself when we left it alone. LOL

4:50PM Just finished In Cold Blood (finally!) UGH this took me forever. It was so boring that is darn near put me to sleep every time I picked it up to read it. I did not DNF it only because it was for a challenge I have to complete and the only book that fit the challenge. Just glad I am finally done.

Mary Beth | 323 comments Had a 4 hour ER visit today. I slipped on ice 6 weeks ago and thought I just sprained it but the pain started getting worse and found out that it was the rotator cuff in my shoulder and have to through physical therapy then MRI and maybe surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed that I dont have to have surgery if I do I probably wont have it. I hear that is the worst pain.

Mary, prayers for you. I don't blame you for not wanting the surgery! I refuse to have surgery on my knees. YUCK! No thank you! Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Susan thanks see ya tomorrow chick!
