Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Awww hugs to Amy. How sweet though that she has such a loving heart that his passing has affected her the way it has.

2.25PM and I'm super excited because three of my books just arrived - The Tell-Tale Heart and Other Writings, Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Marvels. Yay!

7:28AM Taking Nash in to be neutered, always a scary time. He is going o be hungry when we go to pick him up. So say a little prayer for him. Then when we get back from dropping him off, our treadmill is due to be delivered. A busy morning for us.

Thanks y'all, Amy will be ok. She was such a fan of his. He was a very good actor.

Thanks Shell, everything went great. It turns out he has a UTI (Urinary Track Infection), but the Doctor's gonna give his some meds for that.

7:16AM I am having a hard time waking up this AM. LOL I am not sure why, I slept well. Milestone for me, I only have 60 pages to go in Career of Evil. YAY! Wow this book has dragged on. So I will finish this and then I have a buddy read starting today.

Nash is doing well although he hates the cone on his head. Yesterday he was still a little groggy, but he is much more alert today. I could tell he was hurting a bit yesterday too after his pain med injection wore off.

3:56PM And I just finished Career of Evil. Rated it a 3.5 stars again because of the characters alone. I feel like there is a lot of unnecessary parts to the book, and not a lot of excitement. It is so up and down, but seems to be enough to keep me reading LOL. Have another buddy read starting today, Timeline, by Michael Crichton. I hope this is a good one.

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments 10:02pm - Had today off from University as I was ill so I caught up with a lot of my work and read a bit of my book and my buddy read so today was pretty productive. Tomorrow, I have a meeting with my group to practice a presentation we have to give in a few weeks but the rest of the day is free for work and reading.

Glad to hear Nash is doing well Janie :)

10.37AM and I'm feeling sleeeeeepy this morning! I didn't get to bed until after 1AM as I had my brother over to celebrate his birthday. It was a really nice night, but it was well past my bedtime! I'm looking forward to a quiet one tonight, hopefully I can get some reading done. I realised I have bout 10 books spread out through the house that I have started and not finished so I think I will aim to try and finish a few before I go starting anything new!

10:22PM Ok so time to read a bit more before bed. I was sitting in my comfy chair with my book and kept nodding off LOL So now at my desk, I might be able to get a bit more read.

Thanks everyone, Nashoga is coming around and is more like himself now. He tries to play with Lilah but she is scared of his dang cone. LOL

LOL Susan she seriously is scared of it. It looks like Nash has open his incision a little cause it was seeping, so it is time to call them and see. It is hard to tell because he also has a sore there. I am thinking it is from rubbing it on the ground because of the itching. I think they should have stitches on the outside too instead of the surgical glue. They did not take into account that he would be rubbing himself on the ground lol

message 13276: by ✨Susan✨ (new)

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments I agree. Not a big fan of that glue. Even on little Bella it did not do such a good job.

so far, we are on a 2 hour delay! I get to sleep late.

6:48AM Oh good grief we are having a time with Nash. Come to find out they never did a complete neuter on Nash. *rolls eyes* no wonder they could give us a good price on it. So they say that it was infected and now they had to do a complete. So we get charged another $180. We had to cut his cone down a bit (the first time) so he could eat and drink (who does not have large breed puppy collars?) So they wanna blame us for the infection, when it was clear that he could still not lick his incision. So when we go to pick him up she adds, "we gave him a new collar, please do not modify it." I wanted to slap her. So he has a drain in that comes out on Monday. GAH I wish I had never would have went through with all of this. Had I know they were not doing a complete neuter the first time I would never have done it. I will never go to the Texas Coalition again that is for sure. You live you learn, I am just sad that Nash has to go through this. I have told Amy to NOT take Mist there, and just find a good vet.

I agree Stephanie and I feel like a horrible puppy owner putting him through that. But he is a trooper. He just had his pain meds and antibiotics (which they should have included the first time), and he is happy puppy. Still terrorizing Lilah. LOL

Christine (KizzieReads) (kizzie48) | 6 comments Janie what a horrible place. I would tell everyone I knew with pets not to go there. We have some nasty vets here as well, and it's just not right. Hope he gets better soon.

message 13285: by ✨Susan✨ (new)

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments What a bummer for both of you. That's crazy that they did not do a full neuter? I have never heard of anything else. Hope he gets well soon. Poor baby :-(

Thanks guys! I just needed to get that out. LOL You would think with Licensed vets there that things would be a little more professional if that is the word I thinking of.

Susan I have never heard of not doing a whole neuter WTH. That boggled my mind enough to think on it all day. He is in good spirits eating and drinking well with his 'all of a sudden' right size e collar. Grrr.

message 13287: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Oh Janie, that's terrible. What a horrible place. It makes me sad to think of them treating you and Nash so badly. Even when vets are kind, caring and gentle it is hard not to feel guilty when our fur babies are sick - the last thing you need is people making you feel even worse. I'm glad to hear that he is in good spirits now. Poor guy!

Maybe a BBB review is in order. You can do them right on line. It may save someone else another horrible experience. Kiss and give the cone head a treat from me. ;-)

That's awful Janie, we had a similar vet a couple years ago that we took my cat to, And he was an asshole and just didn't seem to care, excuse my language. I hope Nash is doing better.

7:24AM Hey guys siting here wrting as I hear Nash whining in his kennel. I was concerned yesterday about taking off his wrap and him rubbing himself on the ground to get infected again, so I called them and thankfully they directed me to someone in Care correspondence or something like that, and she helped me so much. She is out of another branch and I explained to her my concerns and she told me that Nash had to be in his kennel, I told her I was glad she told me that because they never told me any of that up there. The whole time though I am thinking wow that is gonna be hard to keep him in there. He gets to come out to eat and such and I let him sit in the chair with me so he does not have to be in there that whole time. We have decided though if anything else happens (infection, stitches etc.) he will go to our regular vet in Ponder. At least this time they used actual stitches and not that surgical glue. These people obviously have never owned a neutered puppy.

message 13292: by ✨Susan✨ (new)

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Poor guy. It's got to be hard to hear him whining. Hang in there, tough puppy love for his own wellness.

10:25PM Had a great day out with Susan today! Got some good books and had some good food. Winding down tonight with Nash laying next to me, but time for him to go to bed. Suppose to have Aeverie tonight but nothing yet. I guess we will see. Will be reading some more here in a few minutes.

Susan it is hard to have to listen to him, this is why I let him sit here with me in the chair, as long as he behaves himself. LOL He is sleeping now but it took him awhile to wind down. He was so happy to see us when we got home, hard to keep him calm.

P.S. Derek did let him out and fed him. LOL

Its so hard to see them in pain. My heart goes out to him Janie! I hope you get Aeverie! One thing that is great about it is he won't be so rambunctious afterwards! Its a total life change.

I'm socializing on good reads and reading!

7:29AM Nash has eaten and gone out but had to lock him back up while I do my online stuff. He will come out soon. Planning on reading more today I am enjoying Black Blood a lot. Hopefully finish it this evening or tomorrow morning sometime.

Mary I don't think he really tries to get it off, but he does hate it. He will be licking himself and then realize he is licking the cone. LOL It is funny but it makes me sad too. He is a trooper though.

As always Susan I had a fantastic time meeting up with you. Always love the conversation, food, coffee. It is always better with friends. HAHA Yes our little group grew quickly, those people were probably thinking "How dare they take another table" LOL
