Corey | 1411 comments 10:24 p.m. Had a tough couple of days, my Aunt who just had back surgery had quite a scare. She started having seizures and had trouble breathing. She was moved into ICU and it turns out that she had pneumonia and also an infection in her body. And she was also running a high fever and her blood pressure was very high. For the past couple of days we thought we were gonna lose her. But I went to see her today and the doctor says her fever is going down and hopefully tomorrow she'll be out of the ICU. She's also starting to get cranky so that's a good sign, means she wants to get out of the hospital, LOL! But she seems to be getting her color back, and she's starting to eat more which is good. She sure had me so worried I haven't gotten hardly any sleep the past couple nights, but I think we'll sleep better tonight knowing that she's getting better.

7:47AM I am getting read to record some videos and then read. I switched off of Voyager to read Fallen. I had a hard time putting Voyager down though and read straight through 200 pages yesterday. It is so good.

Janelle I love football as well! WOOT!

9:41AM I am going to try and finish Fallen today, we will see. Still trying to get used to the house being so quiet now that school started back and Kay is not here. Sometimes I enjoy the peace and other times I hate the quiet.

Janelle, I loved The Mist so much! I preferred the book ending over that depressing movie ending. LOL I was like NOOOOO!

7:49AM Had a great night with my family with not much reading time. Got my hair cut finally for an upcoming wedding out of state and a visit with my family. Plan on reading today though in a buddy read with of Inkspell with Mary.

Janelle and Mikana, you should both totally read The Mist if you haven't. I loved that book and it was pretty creepy.

message 13067: by Mikana (new)

Mikana (mikanakat) | 4 comments The Mist made my shortlist, along with Gerald's Game and Clive Barker's Hellhound Heart. I have no idea which I'll read first, but I've been reading mainly young adult book's of late, so I've been looking for something different to read after I finish Septimus Heap

Corey | 1411 comments 4:52 PM I have some really sad news, my Aunt had to go back into the ICU, she spiked a high fever so she went into the ER, and it turns out she has a tear in her esophagus, which explains why she hasn't eaten anything, and we don't think she'll be able to withstand surgery again. The only other option would be a feeding tube but we know she won't tolerate it because she's one stubborn woman, HAHA! But anyway, my Mom made a very difficult decision, and right now there's Hospice involved, the feeding tube was a last resort, and surgery is out of the question. So all we can do is make her comfortable. But I'm asking everybody on Goodreads to please pray for my Aunt. We have lost so many family members in not even 2 years, it's been so hard.

Corey | 1411 comments 4:25PM This morning around 6:30 my Aunt passed away, my Mom stayed with her until the very end. I wish that I would have gone up there with her, I just didn't expect it to happen so fast, I'm kicking myself right now, I feel so guilty. But she's not suffering anymore and she's in a better place with all the other loved ones we've lost. My Mom and I are saddened and she will be missed but we will hold onto the happy memories of her.

9:12AM Well I and my family are all safely home after a very busy weekend with family. My niece is now married and I have to say she was absolutely breathtaking. We ran into some snags while trying to get set up for the wedding, and we were all exhausted, but I would do it all again. Everything was beautiful.

So now I am just trying to recuperate and get my thoughts together to write a couples of reviews, and get this online stuff done. LOL We have to run into town today since there is next to nothing in this house to eat. LOL

Corey | 1411 comments 10:42 p.m. Well we had my Aunt's funeral today, it was very tough and very emotional, especially for my Mom because it was her sister, but I was right by her side and we pulled through. We'll be heading back home at some point tomorrow morning, we just checked back into our hotel room, and we're all really tired. The funeral went extremely well and we will all remember the good memories of my Aunt.

My Mom and I watched the whole original Star Wars Trilogy and just had some munchies. And I also got some big news, tomorrow's my birthday, I'm gonna be 23. My Mom is planning on taking me out to eat at one of my favorite restaurant's, Longhorn Steakhouse, can't wait!

Corey | 1411 comments 5:30PM I'm so mad right now, sorry everybody, I just have to vent, I won't use any bad language. My boss and I were getting ready to close up the shop we work in and we did cash up and were ready to head out and this lady comes in to shop and I said to her we're getting ready to close up and she said she wouldn't be long so I just say okay. Then she buys something worth 50 cents, so she paid me 1 dollar for it and I took it and since we already did cash up we wouldn't have been able to give her the change without screwing up the cash up, so I felt bad and wanted to do a nice thing, I had a couple quarters, in my pocket (or I thought I did) so I gave it to her as change, and she flips out because I gave her only one quarter, and I thought I had 2 and gave both of them to her, and I kept trying to convince her I thought I had 2 quarters but she wouldn't let it go. I handled it very well, even though I wanted to jump over the counter and strangle her. I'm just kicking myself for trying to be nice and this is the thanks I get.

Again I apologize, I just needed to vent before I exploded.

I think I would have insisted on being closed. But it would have been the same result. People need to know that this world does not revolve around them. GAH!
