Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:38 AM. My sweet husband, who I have been married to for four years today, just left for his second to last day at this hospital before his transfer/new job. It's hard to believe we have already been married for four years, but they have been the best four years. :) I stayed up until about 1 AM to read Night Film. I wanted to stay up later, but of course, sleep always decides to kick in. I am going to enjoy some coffee and breakfast here soon. Finally ready to eat. Sometimes after I sleep, it takes me a bit to wake up. Lol. Anyways, after breakfast, I am going to keep reading. You would think I would be done with Night Film by now, but I find myself really absorbed in the story and wanting to really absorb everything going on, not miss an important detail, and kind of wanting to savor it a bit. I guess I like the book? Haha! Anyways, happy Thursday!

Terri, Gizmo always gets some extra love. Pepper....I try to give her extra love, but she hasn't figured out if she bites Momma, I stop petting her. Oh well...Gizmo is my baby and Pepper is Mark's baby, so I guess it all works out! Haha! Give Charlie some hugs for me. :)

11:38AM Having a quiet morning. I was up till 2:00am reading. I am enjoying this book so much. I was trying to get to page 200 last night but I failed I hit 185 LOL and got super tired. So today I was checking my vlog to reply to some subscribers and the ad that popped up on my video was for the movie God's not Dead, and I SO wanna see it. It comes to theatres March 21st and I am excited. It looks like such a profound movie! Here is the link if y'all wanna watch the trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMjo5f...

GeneralTHC 11:00 PM

Having a hell of a tough time tonight. Going to have to put my cat Baby Girl to sleep in the morning. She's a little gray 14-year-old tabby. This is the 5th time in the past 6-7 years alone. This process just doesn't get any easier--ever. She should have lived longer than that. Sigh. ... if there is any mercy to be had in this world it's only through our fellow human beings. I truly believe that.

Q: How long does a cat live?
A: Never long enough.

message 10268: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Omg. Chuck, I had to do to my cat of ten years. It is such a difficult decision to make. Hang in there my friend. Just give her lots of love and tell how much you love her tonight. Agh...I'm crying. I wish I could be there with you, or at least could say something to make it better. But having been there myself, I know nothing can make you feel better. Only time can do that. I will be thinking of you and Baby Girl. ((((HUGS))))

message 10270: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC Thank you very much, ladies.

I love animals a lot, not too many things I care more about really. They don't lie to you, steal from you, or go out their way to hurt you--which is more than I can say for a lot of people I've known, unfortunately, but I don't think I'll be getting any more pets. I just can't do it anymore. They sure give you all their love, that's for sure.

Chuck I am so sad for you and I know how you feel. I am sure you remember I just lost my cat who was 13 years old and it is always way too soon. it is never easy when it is your pet who loves you unconditionally. I am thinking about you and how you feel. :(

GeneralTHC Oh, really? I'm sorry, Janie. No, I don't think I knew that. I haven't been reading the blog pages for some time if you posted it there. I'm sure I would have offered my condolences had I known, and I thank you very much for yours. I really do appreciate it very much. It's just amazing how much a person can grow to love those little creatures. I don't even consider them pets so much as I consider them family.

oh, big sigh. Tough day tomorrow coming up. Guess I'll try to read for a little while and try to get my mind off things and hopefully get a few hours sleep.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:02 AM. Good Friday Morning, GR! Today is Mark's last day at this hospital before our move/his transfer to his new job. I plan on mainly reading today because I need to finish up Night Film. The Bone Collector read is starting tomorrow. I am very excited about it. I thought I heard thunder this morning when I woke up, so I was a little disappointed, to say the least, when I realized it was sunny. I'm not sure why I was hearing thunder. haha! Oh well. I already have my coffee, ate cereal, and I'm good to go for a day of reading. :)

message 10277: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 14, 2014 07:29AM) (new)

Chuck, I'm so sorry about Baby Girl. Your pets become so much a part of the family. They are so intuitive to your moods, and that unconditional love they give you is priceless. We had to put down our collie of 14 years a little over a year ago. The decision was heart-wrenching, especially for my hub. He still feels guilty about it. I just have to keep telling him that it was the right time. Pets rely on us to make good decisions for them, and that includes a dignified end when they are in pain and can't even make it down 1 step to the back yard. So I told Larry that is was just the best and the last thing he could do for him.

Kathryn, Happy Anniversary to you and Mark! Hope you have a fun, special, and love-filled evening! (Also, I record PR and then make my hub sit through it with me! His reactions are priceless, and it's so much fun to have someone to laugh about it with you!)

Chuck, how are you enjoying The Caine Mutiny?

9:57am EDT. Having a lazy morning hanging out on GR with my coffee at hand. I've been on here since 8:30 and it's so relaxing and so much fun. Pretty soon, though, I'll start reading (and make another pot of coffee). I'm having those weird neurological symptoms again. I get confused as to what day and time it is. I talk and what I mean to say isn't understandable to others. I'm unsteady on my feet and have trouble getting out of a chair. It's rather concerning. I have an MD appointment next month, but I had an entire neuro work-up about 18 months ago and there was nothing specific. I'm definitely not going through that again. It's probably just my underlying symptoms flaring up again. So if I start posting incomprehensible or bizarre comments, you'll know why!

Happy Friday everyone!

10:45AM So yea, uhh I stayed up till 3:00AM reading that dang book because I could not even put it down. One of Hoag's best I think so far out of the 3 I have read of hers. I am so glad I finally decided to read her stuff. It was nice to see some old faces show up in the installment. Sam Kovak is beginning to move up into Joe Ledgers spot. LOL Better look out Joe! heh! So I am enjoying my coffee, and I am thinking I will squeeze a book in before tomorrows 'Bone Collector' read starts. Not sure about that yet, we will see. Looking forward to that one.

Yea Chuck in was in my blog post, no worries, just wanted you to know that I understand what you are going through. Hang in there.

2:10 p.m. and I might read a little before work. Only got three hours sleep this morning because of a trip to the hospital with my back. However, I will say that I feel rested. Three hours pain-free rest is so much better than 6 or 7 when you awaken several times in pain.

I'm enjoying THE CAINE MUTINY quite a bit. I can't wait to get a little further along in it. I glanced some interesting stuff in my buddy read for it. I think I'm going to love it.

Hey, you know what, Terri? You ought to read some Oliver Sachs if you haven't. It'd be funny to pick up all the jargon you can from it and go in there talking neurology talk. I found it to be really interesting, too.

Good luck on your writing event, Holly.

It's 4:44am and I've been up all night again. Larry's band is having a practice tonight so maybe I can get to bed early then. As my consolation for having to be alone on a Saturday night we're going to either eat out or order in. Either one will be a treat. The house is so quiet and peaceful. Charlie is nestled up right against me on the couch--he's used to a lot of petting and physical contact. My hub and I always say we're his pack, and that does seem so. (Larry is definitely the alpha dog.) Now I'm going to go put on some coffee and get ready for my dentist appointment at 8am. Happy Saturday everyone.

Hey Chris, if you're around at all let us know how you're doing. (I know you're super busy, but we all think of you and hope for the best as far as the job situation goes.) Hope you're getting some good family time.
