Just because he's not wearing it doesn't mean it's gone. He's never worn it all the time.
What I want to know is why they never look in his journal anymore! It was so epic finding stuff in there... though I can see they're more experienced more, it just seemed kinda weird that they hunt for 22 years and then after another like 6 years they can go without it.

I adore the journal (and they do refer to it periodically still), but the thing is...their hunts began to exceed John's knowledge, so there was nothing in Dad's journal that could help them. John never came up against angels, he didn't have experience with Lucifer, he didn't know anything about Leviathans or Eve. The boys were on their own.
Well they hinted that John knew about Sam. Or at least he knew something about Sam and how he was connected to the Yellow Eyed Demon ( I know his name, I just don't feel like looking up how to spell it). But they never disclosed whether John knew Sam was Lucifer's vessel or that the whole plan was to let Lu out of the box. I think it might have helped a little if they had mentioned missing pages in John's journal or something along those lines. Though in the very beginning, John left the journal in the first place because he wanted to keep the most important information with him. Implying that he didn't want to write down what he knew. Sorry, I'm really tired and rambling on and on here...I'll just shut up now.

In shows they always have to explain every single thing, but life isn't like that. So I think this was an acceptable thing that they never explain, because how would they know?
Admittedly, I have not watched season 11 yet, so this may or may not have been answered already, but what happened to Dean's old necklace? The one that would light up when God would appear? I know Sam gave it to Dean, but has that shown up after God does show up? (Pardon for the spoiler!)(I finished season 10 awhile ago, but I'm waiting for season 11 to be released on dvd. And hi! I'm new. Nice to meet everyone!)

My first question is: whatever happened to Dean's leather jacket? The one he got from his dad. When did that disappear? And why?
