Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments I cannot use the image from createspace, while it is a publisher it belongs to amazon and we cannot use any data belonging to amazon.

Please supply another image, you can upload an image to your photo's and we can take it from there

Otherwise editions added

Marian Schwartz | 57 comments I am about to use Create Space to publish one of my novels. I have been under the impression that any cover design I supply to them would belong to me since I paid for the design and own it. If this is not the case, please let me know. If there are problems in using Create Space, I would like to know about them now before I go ahead.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Marian, you should continue to own your cover design, but they'll own the particular copy of it which you provided to them (and they may add watermarks or other distinguishing features). If you upload your cover to a different location for our use, we'll be able to use the copy you provide.

(The problem we have with Amazon and Amazon-owned companies is that they refuse to share any data with companies which do any non-Amazon business, as I understand it. There was a big to-do in January 2012 when Goodreads and Amazon could not negotiate a new contract for book data. Now we have to enter each new edition published by Amazon into the catalog manually based on information from authors or readers.)

Marian Schwartz | 57 comments My choice is between Create Space and Lightening Source. It has become more difficult to get information regarding problems with Create Space. I've read that Amazon plays games with the availability of books published by Lightening Source. I want to get a copy of my novel "The Writers' Conference" in print so I can give it away in a Goodreads promotion. I just received two 5 star reviews from readers who really "got it," which is gratifying, and the reason to write.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) I thought we could use CreateSpace as a legitimate source because they are, in fact, the publishers? I'm certain I've seen this somewhere...

ETA: Here is an instance where Rivka uses CreateSpace not only as a source but for the cover image as well.

Since that post is dated July 2012, I went ahead and snagged the cover from CreateSpace and added it to the entries.
