Tim Arnot - Flick Carter #1: FREED!

Yep, it's a dilemma."
:-)
I'll bash through, and see what the betas say...

When I started writing Broken Truce, I realised that the story would need different POV characters because the plot is spread so wide.
Normally I would write that sort of a story in the omniscient 3rd, but at the moment that's a very unfashionable style to write in (you get bashed for 'head hopping').
So I have a grand total of 7 POV's in Broken Truce! There was NO WAY to tell the story with any fewer perspectives, so now I'm bracing myself for the inevitable; 'too many POV's, very confusing' comments.
I guess you just can't please everyone, so maybe an author should just go with their gut instinct of what works best within the story.
I hope it works out well, Tim! ;-)
P.S. I've recommended your book to my cousin Bobby. ;-P

No."
That's why I didn't understand what you were talking about then!

Eventually there comes a time when you can no longer put it off!

The book page is now live on Goodreads - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... - please feel obligated to add it to your To Read lists :)
I've also produced an ARC edition mobi file. If anyone would like an ARC for review-on-release purposes, please get in touch. :)

At this rate, I think the next short is going to be called Socko's First Swim...

Socko Garrett is just an ordinary kid from the projects. Sure he doesn't have much in the way of prospects, but he never expects to be forced into the Watch. And it's all the fault of that red-haired woman. Now he has woken up in jail. Surely it can’t get any worse, can it? For Socko, no matter what happens, this is his first day…
Review copies of Socko's First Case are also available if you truly have the reviewing bug!
:)

Here's my little review:
Enjoyed this tremendously. This is a short story featuring a junior investigator new to the Kingsmen – an elite and highly organised force in Tim Arnot’s compelling post-apocalyptic England, a place we first encountered in the book Wanted.
The King’s gold has gone missing from a secure room that was sealed by trustworthy Kingsmen. Instead of the gold, there now lies a battered and bloody body. Who was he, how did he get there, where is the gold, and how was it stolen? Perplexing questions in this excellent mystery.
The writing is smooth, very gentle and highly engaging. I can see this developing nicely into a series that I’ll want to experience, especially since it’s written in first person, and Socko is a very pleasing character to spend some time with.

Cheers

Would be happy to review for you if you like (: not sure how good my reviews are, though!

Hi
I missed these posts before. I'd like a copy please. I enjoyed your story in the salmagundi.

Just 5 days to go...

Parsons Street in Banbury and Magpie Lane used to be called Grope Lane. Actually, that's not true, there was a second syllable after Grope (beginning with C) that I probably shouldn't utter on such a family friendly forum.
I've read and enjoyed this. Where do you want me to leave a review? (Seeing as it hasn't been released yet...)

Ok - I'll type it up on goodread though (as I notice that it has been added to the database.) as I'll forget what to say if I leave it too long! Then I can copy and paste it when it goes live on amazon.

Done on goodreads. Hope it's ok!

Choosing's tomorrow!

In the US, if you buy the p/back, you get the Kindle edition for free. Sadly they don't do that here.
