I just finished

The Devil's Causeway The True Story of America's First Prisoners of War in the Philippines, and the Heroic Expedition Sent to Their Rescue by Matthew Westfall
by Matthew Westfall

I gave it a 4-star rating. In Goodreads, it means "I really liked it!"

It is recommended for all Filipinos who want to know more about our history particularly during the Filipino-American war during the turn of the century (1899-1900).

It is not yet in the local bookstores but it will have a book launching here.

Matthew Westfall is a Filipino. He and his family live in Makati. Please visit and like his FB Author page: www.facebook.com/matthewswest....

Thanks!

Rise I just finished this too. Good thing napanalunan ko ito sa GR First Reads. Excellent history book that reads like an adventure novel.

Congratulations, Ryan. Natapos mo rin. Ganda pa ang mga picture. Si Vanville at 17 sobrang totoy pa. Naawa naman ako. Pero parang somewhere in the middle of the story, may nabanggit na tumanda raw sa Baler dahil nag-enjoy doon at di na bumalik sa Amerika. Akala ko, all the while, si Vanville yon.
