For pagination, you don't want to count the blank pages. Your book would have 237 pages. The last numbered page of the book is the page count. You always ignore pages that are Roman numeraled; sometimes introductions or prefaces are. Don't worry about wide variations in page numbers among editions; some books just have different numbers of words on the page, larger or smaller typefaces, etc. which accounts for these differences.

First of all, I am almost finished reading Feed by M.T. Anderson. The cover of the book that I am reading is one that I cannot find ANYWHERE - it is not listed here or anywhere in any search that I conducted on Google whatsoever. The version that I have has two different awards printed in the bottom left corner of the cover. The first one reads "Los Angeles Times Book Prizes - 2002 Young Adult Fiction Winner." The second one below that is the "National Book Award Finalist" award. The second one is listed on the cover that is shown above in my post, however I cannot find any covers at all that also have the first one printed. Can someone let me know what would be best for me to do in this situation?
Also, are we supposed to record pages numbers based on what the actual numbers say or are we supposed to count even the blank pages at the beginning and and end of the books? The version that I have has printed page numbers up to 237. All of the other hardcover versions that are listed so far on this site have a much higher page-number count than this. I'm thinking that maybe this book was recently printed in a different manner?
If anyone could please guide me in correcting this and on how to correct this, I would greatly appreciate it. I have gone through the manual, but I am still trying to figure everything out. I thought that this dilemma would be a good example that may help me to get integrated into this group and into being a librarian. I just don't want to make any mistakes that could cause confusion for other Goodreads members - I take my status very seriously!
Thank you in advance to anyone who may be able to guide me through this first hump that I've encountered as a librarian. I look forward to working with all of you in the future.
