Please add new book:
Title: What Happened Here?
Author: Ben Duiverman
ASIN: B009SFPXD2
Format: Kindle only
Publisher: Self-published
Publication Date: October 18, 2012
Short Description:
What's not to like about a big book full of tales of terror, mayhem, and wonder?

In What Happened Here? you'll meet ordinary people who experience extraordinary events. You'll be introduced to an old man nicknamed The Sweeper who knows his in-laws aren't what they seem, but he can't convince anyone of the coming apocalypse; you'll encounter a circus managed by ancient fiends, forever traveling along hidden trails that connect ancient landmarks and places of worship, earth's ley lines, the toll pike to perdition that offers no rest stops for the wicked travelers, a world so perfectly rendered in Hieronymus Bosch's 'The Fall of the Rebel Angels.' You'll come across hypnotists secretly planting destructive suggestions into receptive minds that last beyond life; witness experiments with quantum entanglement and telekinesis that go horribly wrong, and get to know a retired WWII B-29 Superfortress bomber pilot who's been lost over Tokyo since 1945.

But wait! Naturally, there's more: a heartbreaking saga about two ancient Korea vets reminiscing and traveling back and forth in time, one of them sacrificing everything to make things right; you'll cross paths with modern-day Furies collecting and punishing sinners in a way that gives hell and damnation a whole new meaning, and there are yarns about how not to reenact old battles, and about the dead trespassing, desperately wanting to trick or (but not really) treat. This wouldn't be an account of mayhem if it didn't chronicle what happens when an old-fashioned instant camera powered by an unearthly energy source warns a pathological liar to stop hurting his wife, and the guy pays no heed to an avalanche of photos portraying horrific deaths of family members as they happen, and you're right: no collection of this kind would be complete if it didn't contain narratives of a painter's subjects coming alive to extract bloody revenge on their creator, and a man who's had enough of his wife's attempts at gourmet cooking. Or how about Harry? Only God and he know what's really on the menu at the exclusive French bistro where only the rich wine and dine.

The Gathering Place is an epic mini novella in which Pandora's Box is left open and years and universes and realities converge on a small plot of land in a rural cemetery, and life beyond death offers a long-hoped-for reunion. And if fate smiles upon him, that may also be in store for the man who loses his dear wife to cancer and on his drive home loses himself in sadness and memories and hits and kills a little girl. Finally, you'll come face to face with a man who's been mentally tormented by a sadistic daughter and son-in-law for many years, and in his last remaining moments on earth channels all his new-found hatred into a deadly stream of reality-altering death and destruction.

The sixteen stories in this e-book will astound you. In some cases you'll probably want to keep the lights on at night (especially after a harrowing encounter with the Grim Reaper or Satan or the condemned Nephilim or whatever else may slither beneath the surface of our reality), burn the midnight oil at least until the coast seems clear again; in others, you'll wipe away a tear, glad the dominoes ultimately fell the other way.

Thank you very much!

Kind regards,

Ben

Lafon:

I noticed there are buttons to get the book at Barnes & Noble, et cetera, but it's only available on Kindle (it's part of the Amazon Prime free-read program.) Is that at all changeable?)

Ben

lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments OK, added the cover. As to those links, they are user customisable, and as such librarians/authors have no control over them (For example I don't have Barnes & Noble in mine.)
