Stephen Broeker Foundation is my all time favorite Science Fiction work. This book is very relevant to today.

Brice I second that.

Stephen Broeker So in Foundation, the Scientists have to figure out how to save civilization. They employ math as a tool to ride it out. Let civilization collapse and then hasten the reformation.

So how do we deal with our current situation? Unless our politicians radically change, we will have a financial collapse. And the base problem is not the politicians but we the people. Do we use the Foundation model or perhaps employ some time of revolution?

Great share Jill. Neat indeed!

Tracy Boudreaux Many Series come to mind. The Foundation Series, The Dune Series, the Lensmen Series, The Robot Series. Not sure what Paul Krugman would have to say that can be useful in any way.

Tracy Boudreaux But i enjoy the Foundation Series because of the all encompassing storyline from millenia past to millennia future..like the Robot Series.

W.T. Keeton The thing I have always loved about "Foundation" is the way Asimov so perfectly melded many beloved conventions of space opera (galactic empires, easy travel between planets, etc) with hard science fiction (psychohistory).
