The magic began right from the cover. Greg posted an ad for a cover artist with the title and a drawing of the Longtail, and I was instantly inspired to create for it. Two or three designs came flying out of me, and I had no idea there was a storm involved with the story, it just felt 'right' to create it that way...I am an intuitive artist, yet this was a Powerful feeling that poured out effortlessly. In many ways, it felt like it poured 'through' me. I was not thinking, just going with the flow and creating from pure inspiration. Every time I was informed there was some connection I could not have known, yet, there it was despite what was thought 'possible'. It seemed so fitting for a book about adventure and the experience of courageous questing, that the artwork would also be a journey of discovery and miraculous unfolding. I invite you to gaze deeply into each illustration, often things are noticed a second time around....as if they 'appear' to the viewer when they look again... Enjoy! I am happy to answer any other questions about this process:)
