Theresa Romain | 420 comments Okie, you're loaded up--hope they're great reads. I'm having a historical week:Lady Louisa's Christmas Knight (The Duke's Daughters, #3) and Tempting the Bride.

Finished Easy by Tammara Webber on Saturday and On Dublin Street by Samantha Young yesterday. Loved EASY a lot. It was a solid story with relate-able characters. And I really loved that Lucas was only a bad boy on the outside.

ON DUBLIN STREET was pretty good, if a bit problematic since I'm not generally a big fan of the alpha-hole hero. Braden seemed to walk right off the pages of a Harlequin Presents. I really loved the setting (Edinburgh) and the secondary characters. And I suppose when it was all said and done I liked Joss and Braden. They just weren't my all time faves.

Irisheyes | 896 comments Just finished TEMPTING THE BRIDE. I really loved this book! Probably moreso because I was prepared not to. I was shocked and delighted!

I read the first two books in the trilogy and thought they were okay. I like the first one better than the second. After reading the second book I came away with an uneasy feeling. I didn't like Fitz as much as everyone else did and didn't see the friendship as clearly as others. In the first book I was just a little miffed that I didn't see more of the HEA (I think someone else here stated that as well). I thought maybe ST wasn't writing the type of books that grabbed me anymore so I was hesitant to buy TTB. I finally relented and thought I'd try it. I started reading it at the bookstore and couldn't put it down. I loved this story! I loved both David and Helena (although not as much as David). I loved that the focus through the whole book was on them - they were very rarely separated. I loved Sherry Thomas' wonderful portrayal of pride and awful things said in a moment and no way to backpedal your way out (even for years on end). The tidbits of the barbs traded between the two were priceless and so understandable. What a wonderful look at how easy it is to fall into unhealthy patterns with people and how hard it is to turn it all around.

Irisheyes you said it so well. I really expected to dislike David intensely. And I was not impressed by Fitz--in part because of a quip in the first chapter that was released early that I think never made it into the book.

I loved the whole Fitzhugh trilogy, although I too expected not to like Tempting the Bride. Not only was I less than enraptured with Helena in the earlier books, but I also dislike amnesia plots. But I love TTB, but not quite as much as I loved RTH.

Manda, I reread Veryan's Poor Splendid Wings after you mentioned it. It was so good--even though I wept buckets. I checked into buying a copy, only to find that even a used copy is $40. I guess I'll depend on the library if I want to reread it. Thanks for reminding me about it.

Today I'm reading Meg Benjamin's new one, Fearless Love. Molly O'Keefe's Crazy Thing Called Love is next.

I am reading Theresa Romain's new book and really liking it. There isn't a boring sentence in it--the characters are always surprising me while being true to themselves.

I just read Ravishing the Heiress and His at Night solely because I had a hankering for some arranged marriage stories and really loved both. Glad someone else loved Fitz and Millie too!

I saw your review of Poor Splendid Wings, Janga. I really wish whoever owned the rights to Veryan's backlist would publish them. Not surprised at the cost of the print copy. It's probably rare.

Not sure what to read next.

Manda - I really loved Easy too! It was a great book.

I am finishing up Monsters of Men and then I am going to work on Enchanted by Althea Kontis and Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed by Anna Campbell next.
