Global Donnica (globaldonnica) When I started watching the episodes I spoke to many people about their opinions regarding the show. I struggled with watching the show but then again I has to ask myself why...

This show is about reality.. .the reality between the "have's" and the "have not's" and the people who want to keep it that way and those who try to keep order.

Economics is a science and it's a science of how the "Have's" stay that way regardless of what mess it creates leaving the next generations to endure the consequences.

After listening to the actors and how they felt about the characters they portrayed.. 'The Wire" has given me a whole new perspective. It's not that I'm so great that i haven't experienced that (I'ma product of a private school education" ..but even with that being said if one is aware that other life doesn't elude anyone.

It's only a step from one lifestyle to the next and they all have the same plays...only one is dressed up more than the other and maybe look a a little prettier than the other.

Samantha | 867 comments I haven't ever watched this show so I can't give you an honest take on it.

Margaret Metz | 40 comments I haven't seen the show either, but if it does "teach" the things you said, I wouldn't want to. I'm definitely not a "have" -- I'm the oldest child of four in an Army family. I do know a lot of stories about people who started with nothing and through hard work, courage, imagination, creativity and determination made their way all the way to the top. I also know stories of many
"have's" who lost everything and ended up on the streets. This is one of the few places in the world where you aren't locked in to the same lifestyle you were born into. That's one of the reasons so many people want to come here.

Global Donnica (globaldonnica) Well it's all a reality check nonetheless...it mirrors what people don't want to see... It was hard to watch in many areas but it was true reality... not just people but politics...inequality of the school systems...etc....
