Roberto Cofresí (rchopgood) Hi, in the group Writers Who Write, we have organized three workshops focusing on enhancing our reviewing skills. By reviewing skills we mean, the ability to read our own work or the work of others in a critical manner and then offer positive and intelligent criticism about what we've read. This is good for ourselves in order to improve our own writing, and it's good for each other to be able to offer our perspective in a positive manner to our peer writers.

So, three workshops in three weeks, one each week, each lead by a different person, each lasting 48 hours.

Wednesday Feb 18 (noonish EST) to Friday Feb 20 (noonish EST) the first session will be:
Open Discussion with Christy Cumberlander Walker
An open discussion with published author Christy Cumberlander Walker about how she reviews her own work for publication and the work of others in peer reviews.
Anyone can participate.

Wednesday Feb 25 (noonish EST) to Friday Feb 27 (noonish EST) the second session will be:
Reviewing Workshop with Rhonda Barton
For this session participants will register and submit a piece of writing. Each participant will then review the piece of writing of another participant and Rhonda will discuss each review individually via email. All participants will then review and discuss one of Rhonda's pieces in a public forum.

Wednesday March 4 (noonish EST) to Friday March 6 (noonish EST) the third session will be:
Group Critique with Roberto Cofresi
For the final session, participants will register and submit a piece of writing. During the session, Roberto will guide the group to offer a critique of each piece.

Each part of this three part workshop tries to cover a different aspect of reading and reviewing, but they complement each other. It is recommended to sign up for all three.

To sign up, please join the Writers Who Write group here. It is a private group, so on your application say you are interested in the reviewing workshop and we'll accept you.
