NEVER READ VAMPIRE ACADEMY!!!!!

Hey, so I have never read the vampire Academy before. I hear so many good thing about it! Anyone recommend it?
Could you give me pros and cons without spoilers?
And a simple(non spoiler) summary?

PRO: Dimitri Belikov :)

Con: First book is all world buliding and pretty bad, the rest get better with each book

If you like love stories that have more plot then just the main two characters getting together youll like it.

Plus I kinda Like this version on Vampires its actually pretty interesting Race.

the book is really fast paced and action packed. The vampire world is different to other vampire books I've read before and the main character Rose is a strong character who can kick butt and her relationship with her best friend Lissa is a great part of the story :)
Cons: none, I really love this series :)

The first book didn't impress me.. but the succeeding books keep me going.

I love the series. I didn't like book 1 & 4 though.. I enjoyed the rest of the books (except for those two).

Pro: kiss butt main character who is not such a stupid whiny girl. She is strong and is not stupid. The race of vampires is interesting. And the main character is not a vampire. I love this series, it is not at all like other YA series

Cons: Dimitri, personal opinion do not like him :/ but then again I don't like many love interests
