Really, Janie? This is amazing, fantastic news! I've very happy to hear it!:) I think it could be really helpful to have a reading buddy, too! I'm hoping to finish the 2nd book later this week, then start A Storm of Swords!!
I really cannot wait to get there, either, Victor! All this talk of the Red and Purple Wedding are killing me, I simply must know what all the hype's about.. and I can't BELIEVE that I can't remember any of it!!
I'm also looking forward to Jamie and Cersei's POV.. and more of Davos!

What about Samwell?!?!?
Oh really, I thought Arya's was the only familiar character that we get in AFFC.. it should be fun to get inside her insane mind!
Yes, I love Samwell's character! Which book is his POV in?

He's in both ASOS and AFFC :)
AFFC also has Jaime, Sansa, and Brienne. The rest we heard about but haven't seen their POV yet (Greyjoys, Dornishmen, Kingsguard knight).

Thank you, Jon, I appreciate that!:) For some reason, I thought that Joffrey has his own POV's in either Book 3 or 4, but Victor informed me that isn't the case.. sadly..
I also has been under the impression that Arya was the only well-known character with a POV in Crows..
Thank you, again.

And don't forget, we'll be here to encourage your broadening of literary horizons, and will try to answer as many questions that you may have, Janie.:)

OMG, A Clash of Kings is the best of the series thus far! I cannot rave about it enough! I'm now 33 pages in to the 3rd book, A Storm of Swords!
:)
Awesome!! You should try to read it with Janie and Michelle.:) I think they'll both be starting it around the same time as you!

lots of stuff happening with the 3rd and 4th books; with so much power up in the air... the throne awaits.
I am really wondering how this will all end, especially with 2 more books underway and GRRM is not looking like he is in any rush to get to them. :O

I'm really wondering about the end result, as well, Alondra. There's a lot happening in A Storm of Swords, indeed! I can't wait to get started on A Feast for Crows!

Janie wrote: "Well for one Holly, Fantasy is not my genre but I wanted to try something new. Right now it is all the character building and it is just slow going."
It is a bit slow at first, but like you said, GRRM is introducing all his characters and starting to develop them. What are your thoughts on the Prologue? Are you digging his writing?
I sure hope you can get started soon, Holly!

then you are pretty caught up... i think A Feast for Crows was one of the best, because of the amount of information given. I learned some good details in books 3 & 4.

Yeah, I really thought it best to re-read I-IV, instead of plunging right into Dragons, and boy am I ever glad that I did because I would have been very lost, I think. I'm really looking forward to Feast. It'll be interested to form opinions on it, knowing what I know now..

There are a few books that I'd like to get through after I finish the first volume of Sherlock Holmes. I'm hoping sometime in September, beginning of October at the latest.

i think i will do a reread a few months prior to The Winds of Winter coming out. that will be so much fun, and i am sure there are passages that i have forgotten about as well. i really miss those characters... :(

what is up with those "sand snakes" and the Martells'??

Alondra wrote: "we may have it again... i think the Stark children are gonna bring the pain; but maybe not take the Iron Throne. I think they will play a huge part in who is seated there though...

I think so too, Alondra. Or at least I HOPE that the Starks get some retribution.. even if they don't win the Iron Throne.
I really cannot wait to start Feast.:) With only 132 left of A Storm of Swords, I should be there in a couple days. Yay!!
