Yes, I really cannot wait to catch up with you, book-sister!!

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten past the 89th page of Thrones, but the Seven Kingdoms are certainly calling my name! As soon as I'm done with The Girl Who Played with Fire (116 pages remaining,) and possibly the first couple chapters of Hornet's Nest, I shall be back!!
I'm feeling much better now. Over the weekend, I went from p. 89 to 190. I'm now about 23% complete, and the intrigue has certainly set in.. And I know I'm in great hands with GRRM, this is merely the tip of the ice burg!

You're very welcome. I can't wait to start it either. There's just so much I want to read before I start it.
I know the feeling. Like I said before, I was going to wait for everyone else, but after I got a copy of A Dance With Dragons, I simply couldn't resist!!

:) So do you know when you'll be starting A Game of Thrones?

No Dustin, I don't have the slightest idea. There are a couple more books that I want to check out of the library, so maybe I'll start it after I read those. :-)

All right, cool. It sounds like you might be ready to get started next month, after Joyland, like we'd originally planned..?

It is amazing, IMO! With so many characters, it can be a little intimidating at first, but each in is so distinct, that it's pretty easy to get to know them. Love em or hate em (and trust me, there are several that you truly despise,) GRRM does a fantastic job!
Back-to-back. They are so addictive that I can't read them any other way. I don't know how other people do it! How about yourself?
That's perfectly understandable. There is a LOT to them, after all, and you can't know how you feel about them until you actually read them!
"Fear cuts deeper than swords."
There are elements of horror here. I love the fact that GRRM doesn't pigeonhole his writing into any specific genre. ASOIAF isn't strictly fantasy/sci-fi, horror, political intrigue.. It's in a class all its own!!

So it's been awhile since my last post, and I thought I'd update it. And OMG, I can't believe some of the little details that I'd forgotten! For instance, (view spoiler) Ahh, so much intrigue, betrayal, suspense, and all around insanity!!
I should be done with Thrones in about a week or so!:)

Dearest Tyrion, you know that I love you, yet I'm still baffled by the fact that you always seem to land in such predicaments!!!

I'm glad you've enjoyed them, Squire.

Daenerys, you mean?
Daenerys, you mean?
That is such an awesome, AWESOME scene!!

I've just written and posted my review of A Game of Thrones, available here:

So I've moved directly onto the next book, A Clash of Kings, and 145 pages in, I'm really liking Davos' character a lot. I'm very much looking forward to finding out more about him!
After reading The Catcher in the Rye, I was really itching to get back to A Clash of Kings, but I only made it through one chapter. I'm still kind of reeling from the former, like I'm lost in Holden's world. But not to worry, I should be more than ready for the all insanity of GRRM, later today!:)
