The Talisman is definitely up there on my list of all-time favorite books, too. But more than that, I'm really looking forward to Black House, since I've only read it once and it's been since its initial publication. I remember very little of it, just bits and pieces..

That's awesome!:)
That's awesome!:)
So just out of curiosity, is anyone still interested in a buddy read of ASOIAF? If so, when would be a good time to get started? It doesn't have to be right away or anything, I'm just trying to get an idea of when and the interested parties.

Sounds great, Kathy!
Stefan- it's wonderful to see you here, my friend.:) You definitely MUST read the rest of the series, they are awesome, IMO!

Oh gosh.....there's so much I want to get to! I honestly don't know at the moment. When would be good for you?
Okay. Cool. I could set up a poll if you'd like, asking when the best time would work for those interested...?
The poll is up, buddy. It's looking like it'll be spring!!:) I cannot wait to journey back to the Seven Kingdoms!!
Thanks; you really are awesome Dustin!
Okay sounds good. I can't wait to get started on this series!

once you have the main characters down; the secondary characters come easily enough. before you know it, you will have favorites, those you hate so much that you want them beheaded, and those you just want to slap silly. :D

That's a great point, book-sister. I never really struggled with the characters (except for maybe a little at the beginning,) but I definitely understand it. There are a ton of characters to keep track of. But much of why I didn't struggle is because they're all distinct.
