What are you reading?
I just finished my 11th book this month,
Hollowland (The Hollows, #1) by Amanda Hocking. My next book is
Death Perception (Psychic Eye Mystery #6) by Victoria Laurie
Lannister wrote: "Claire, would you prefer 10 days or two weeks for discussion, or have you no preference either way?"I don't really have any preference, although I'm probably more likely to be more attentive to a 10 day discussion.
We seem to be fairly evenly divided on the ten day/two week thing. Unless there's a big influx of opinions to the contrary, I might just go for ten days, as it probably will be easier for discussion leaders to focus for that length of time. The main downside really is that it pushes the start of the discussions back by about a month, thus making Tempt the Stars release seem that much further off!! :D
I'm torn...I want TtS to come out ASAP, but I'm in no hurry to rush my way through the summer. I'm over this learning business. Time to go home!
I'm hopeful we'll get a teaser chapter soon and that'll keep us busy for a while.I'll give it another week or so to see if anyone else chimes in with some thoughts or ideas on this. And anyone want to volunteer for Claimed by Shadow?? Last chance to be a discussion leader in the Great Cassie Reread of 2013!
I think I'll create a hashtag of #GCR2013 :D
Claire that is a really cool idea :D Maybe we can be a hashtag. So then we can keep tweeting to each other.
That would be awesome. I finished
and I liked it a lot. The heroines can be a bit maddening with their commitment phobia, but the book was pretty funny and light. Love the banter between the characters.Starting
I'm thinking of getting a twitter account when I start really writing. EXCITING READING NEWS :P well exciting for me. I'm starting my reread of
, AND started reading
!!
I can barely keep my Facebook alive because I'm so forgetful....but great idea.I'm stuck right now. I'm disappointed by the beginning of
and
is ok but soon finished. I can't seem to pick a book I want to read even if I have 800 to choose from my TBR pile. :(
I never use my FB ... I think I have 20 friends and most are my family. (using FB on my phone is a lot easier) I have a twitter account and did some messing with it, but the web interface is not screenreader friendly. I know that there are apps desktop and phone, but I have no reason really to look into it.Never been a big fan of social media even before my stroke. I avoided lj (unless there was a thread/post me and my friend made fun of) or myspace ... I had a myspace ... I made it after people kept giving me grief about not having one ... the name ... idonthaveamyspacestfu.
Too bad I left it on private (if it is still even there) I had a neat design even though I never posted on it hah. Oh, I also remember I had an av/profile pic that was rather childish. It was a pic I took on a vacation me and my ex went on in TN it is one of those giant plaster roosters and it is white. So juvi humor gogogo.
Arushi wrote: "Claire that is a really cool idea :D Maybe we can be a hashtag. So then we can keep tweeting to each other."Yes! Hahahaha
I got a twitter when I still adored Laurell K Hamilton because she'd drop hints about what she was working on. I also follow favorite bands and such.
I have had twitter for a while but I rarely use it. I just like the fact that its linked to goodreads and my ratings and reviews are directly posted there - and to facebook. So I don't have to do anything. Plus it is a neat way to follow authors and other some really interesting people.
Exactly! It's funny because sometimes I find news from Twitter more quickly than my parents do from actual news programs/websites.

You will never get a consensus if there are more than one person involved. Decide what you want, then tell us. If you are more comfortable with two weeks per book, then just say we are doing two weeks per book. Believe me, no one will fight you on the matter.

She'll send us out to hunt for Mircea/Marlowe slash fiction.
OH thank god for being on the other side of the pond! :P I like to follow dresden files characters on twitter. It amuses me to no end....
Ooohhh, I need to do that. I followed True Blood and BDB characters ages ago, but I'd love to follow Dresden Files characters.
well I don't follow yet, I don't have twitter, by follow I mean read their pages. https://twitter.com/HarriedWizard--and he tags the other characters so you can find them. I love Thomas': https://twitter.com/WeDontSparkle

Mwahahaha there's no oceans on the internet! I'm backdooring into your computers AS WE SPEAK so you can shortly expect a barrage of Pritkin porn popups (hey, I'm not totally evil!)
Also, I decided to seize the day and I've set up a Twitter account for the group! I haven't tweeted much yet as I haven't had a lot of time, but I'll try to update it practically every day with whatever's going on in the group. I reserve the right to quote you all!! (Well, unless you tell me not to.)
If you're on Twitter, you can follow it here ...
https://twitter.com/KCFanGroup
I'm hoping there's no issue with using KC's name in the account title. I did specifically put in the bio that we're not official but I might just drop KC an email to make sure she's OK with it. I'll pretty it up a bit tonight or tomorrow when I have more time.
So, if you're on Twitter, follow it and I'll follow you back. Expect lots of nonsense!
I followed ... I have no idea what I did ... but I think I did it right. Man, another thing I need to update, wtf are some of the people/accounts that I am following? My phone app better be better for editing and crap, though I should look up blind friendly twitter apps....
It is freezing cold (this is tx it was in the 80s days before) my fingers wont work.
I'm following!Just finished
and I lovededed it. I can't remember why I kept putting off reading it. I think I heard that it was disappointing. Weird. I couldn't stop reading it. I'm actually glad I waited until somewhat closer to the release of book 4 after all of that stuff with Death went down and that friggin' ending. If I'd read that last July and then had to wait a year, I'd have been screamin'.Starting
Hot Blooded (Jessica McClain, #2) by Amanda CarlsonHrm … no idea why I liked it. It seemed like:
Talktalk—insurmountable odds—revelation—ta-da—omgjessisawesome … rinse and repeat.
+ vampire yoda
+++zombie goats … no really there were zombie goats
Llaph, I read the first book and prequel...was not very impressed...and the 'cliffhanger' pissed me off a bit too.It gets better?
Seriously ... they don't really get their act together to get roarke back till like I think 65% or something, I stopped checking. This book ends with a cliffhanger too ... sometimes things are just too convenieant for her.
I wanted to see more roarke damnit ... and how can a person seriously carry on a convo with someone's hand in your chest wrapped around your heart?
Oddly though I still liked it. I don't know about it getting better, I liked the pre-quel and first book more.
I liked the prequel and first book a lot, but I know a few people that didn't. It seems to be one of those really hit or miss series. It takes them that long to go and get Roarke? Poor Roarke, stuck waiting all that time.
Maybe it's the cliffhanger thing in
(finished this week) that got to me. I just finished
and while good it ends of a somewhat cliffhanger....and there is
that I'm reading right now which is supposed to do the same.I'm think I 'm overdosing on cliffhanger and it's affecting my reading enjoyment.
just finished my 12th book this month,
Death Perception (Psychic Eye Mystery #6) by Victoria Laurie. My next book is
Midnight Rising (Midnight Breed #4) by Lara Adrian
