I decided to read it because of the cover, too, but it turned out to be pretty darn good. I haven't decided if I'm going to buy the shorts, either, but I'll definitely be reading the next book.
The cover didn't influence me! I am so funny....I have read both shorts (am in the middle of the madame morpho one--preparing for book 2!), I rather liked them.
The latest short tells part of Casper's story in prep for the next book sorta.
Poor Casper falling for the wrong woman more than once!

Ahaha I have Wicked as They Come on my TBR pile as well.I might start it after I finished the Iron druid chronicles, but I'm not sure.
Criminey is awesome ... he knows what he wants and gets it while pushing the limits where he can. :xRight now he is one of my fav male characters in a series.
There is only 1 full book and 2 shorts in that series atm, the 2nd book is slated to come out near the end of this month I think.
just finished the Leviathan series.
heaps bummed its over cause it was a wonderful series, i highly enjoyed it!!
I just finished my 3rd book this month,
No Mercy (Dark-Hunter, #19; Were-Hunter, #6) by Sherrilyn Kenyon. My next book is
Faithful Place (Dublin Murder Squad, #3) by Tana French
started
, so far a tad confusing - there's heaps of weird tech jargin that pretty much makes no sense to me, lol. also im finding the start a little...slow. though it has started picking up a bit :)
Diane wrote: "Did you like Slayer's Kiss? I was thinking about reading it, and is it a standing alone book or a series?"Slayer's Kiss is a series. I got it as a freebie on Amazon a week or two ago. The story was interesting but certain plot elements were like dumped without adding much to the story. I honestly think an editing would not have gone amiss but the angel/other race was a nice angle.
Started
. I love the Toby series, I really do but they are depressing to read.
Lannister wrote: "I'm reading

Finished
and I really liked it. It seems most of the people I know that have read it didn't, but it worked for me. Despite that cheesy ass last line.Starting
That's what everyone says when someone mentions it. It's just silly and I don't know why she wrote it.
I just finished my 4th book this month,
Faithful Place (Dublin Murder Squad, #3) by Tana French. My next book is
Blue-Blooded Vamp (Sabina Kane #5) by Jaye Wells
Seduced By Shadows (Marked Souls, #1) by Jessa SladeSucks that my library doesn’t have the rest of the series it was pretty interesting.
I finished
. Liked it a lot. Already bought the rest of the books, so hopefully, I'll be continuing on with them soon.Starting
Finished
. Better than I thought it would be. Not as good as I hoped. Starting
. The more Nekoda we see, the more head exploding will happen on this side of the screen. Here's hoping this book is better than the last 3!
I just finished my 5th book this month,
Blue-Blooded Vamp (Sabina Kane #5) by Jaye Wells. My next book is
Kitty Rocks the House (Kitty Norville #11) by Carrie Vaughn
I finished
a few days ago and I loved it. I'm really liking the Iron Druid chronicles a lot. There were moments that made me laugh out loud.
I just finished my 6th book this month,
Kitty Rocks the House (Kitty Norville #11) by Carrie Vaughn. My next book is
Cast in Peril (Chronicles of Elantra #8) by Michelle Sagara West
I've been in a bit of a slump lately... But I finally caught up on my Iron druid Chronicles...

Cast In Sorrow is set for release 27 Aug - and I'd recommend waiting for it before starting Peril!!
Not that you HAVE to... but considering where Cast in Peril ends... You may want the next novel on hand... :)
Finished The Ghost IN The Graveyard by Genevieve Jacks. It's the first book in The Monk's Hill Witch series. I'll be waiting for #2. Very different concept on supernatural creatures. Giving it a 3and half to a 4. Which I usually give first books, unless it was really bad.
Starting Eventide, 3rd book in the Dark Ink Chronicles by Elle Jasper. I'm enjoying this series. The fourth book is also out YEAH won't be wait a year. Has anyone else been or read this series?

last night and loved it."Book 2 is out now as well (Midnight Blue light Special) and it's every bit and great as the first one!
Like Jax, I too have been in a reading slump. I think I've only read 1 book in the last couple of weeks, and that was
; it took me about a week to manage this. Normally I would have knocked out a book like this in a few hours.Right now I'm reading
; nice and dry. This will definitely take more than a week to get through.
Ah, so you found a book then Duane. Hope it gives you what you need. It's good to know I can pick your brains if I need to. :)
Red Hat is like high school spanish for me ... I knew it, it is somewhere in my head, but don't ask me to find it.
Yes, I used your suggestion on checking it out!Seems like an OK book so far. The way all the technical books start out treat you like an imbecile; then again, I guess alot of us are. I really just want to see what Red Hat has added to their stuff, as I've use Suse Enterprise Linux over the last few years. Here in the US RHEL seems to be more popular.
I'd rather be reading the "Black Wings" series by Christina Henry, but, you know, priorities....
Llaph wrote: "Red Hat is like high school spanish for me ... And I took Spanish in HS too, right along with Latin. I refuse to use either of them now. LOL!
Lannister wrote: "Ah, so you found a book then Duane. Hope it gives you what you need. It's good to know I can pick your brains if I need to. :)"As much as I pick your brains, you've got a lot of payback due you. ;-)
I liked that book ... it was different. O and messed up near the end seriusly I did a wtf and then thought that well hnot too surprised I guess ... but still wtf.
Full Moon Rising (Riley Jenson Guardian, #1) by Keri ArthurHaven't read that series in a while!
Though I have One for the Wicked (Dark Mission, #5) by Karina Cooper
Which for some reason I was able to get last week … weird. I wont read it till I re-read the series since this is the last book. <>

Me too! I'm vain enough to admit that I started reading it because of the cover but soon found out that there was a pretty good story for a PNR novel. Sadly I have yet to decide on purchasing the shorts or just wait for the next book.
