Currently reading
. So far I'm not impressed, good thing I could borrow it at the library...saving a bit of money.
Just finished Something Secret This Way Comes by Sierra Dean. Gave it 4 stars (Read my Review)Starting Kissed By Darkness (Sunwalker Saga) by Shea
MacLeod.
I just finished my 11th and 12th book this month, titled
Religion, Myth, and Magic: The Anthropology of Religion (The Modern Scholar)by Susan A. Johnston and
Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires #13)by Rachel Caine. My next book is
Infinity (Chronicles of Nick #1)by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I'm slightly shocked to realise that the next Chicagoland Vampire book will be out in less than two months!

I've had it since it came out, I've just been too afraid to read it. Chloe Neill's writing has started to bore me.
@Zeenat I wanna read the 3rd Dresden Files book, but I have so many things to finish. *sigh*
In the chicagoland series, after (view spoiler) it lost its momentum, IMO. What happened at the end of biting cold I hope brings it back for the next book.
Lannister wrote: "That cover is kinda awesome! Crossbows and ballgowns go together so well! :D"Well there'd be lots of room underneath to hide extra bolts -- as long as you didn't affect the drape of the skirt. :D
Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ wrote: "On to
to see what all the fuss is all about."Actually I don't see what the fuss is about :/. It is too much like
for my liking. I actually liked the second book more. But for this story in this book is nothing special but that's just me.
I only got to about a 1/3 of
when the mother shows up and I decided it was not for me.So far it's better written but eerily similar to
(which I did not like at all). I don't know what to think at this point in the book but Sylvia Day writes ok.
Zeenat wrote: "In the chicagoland series, after [spoilers removed] it lost its momentum, IMO. What happened at the end of biting cold I hope brings it back for the next book."You are absolutely right
I had difficulty with reading
but I do love
. I also think that
was better then 1st book but worse then second.I wanted to read
but many people said that there are many stylistic and grammar mistakes and that it will drive me crazy so I decided not to :/
I just finished my 13th book this month, titled
Infinity (Chronicles of Nick #1)by Sherrilyn Kenyon. My next book is
Invincible (Chronicles of Nick #2)by Sherrilyn Kenyon
@ Margo:1 st was okay, 2nd was a bit better, and the 3rd book ... I reaaaaally did not like it.
I did not really see the comparison between Bared to You and Fifty. Then again I am willing to admit I can be dense. I have not read Reflected in You yet so I have no comment as to if it is better than the 1 st book.
I am re-reading:
Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker series
They are pretty quick and I don't have to think when I listen to them. Kind of like watching iffy shows on T.V. ...
I read # 5 in a few hours today just for example.
I am pretty much out of re-reads and books that I am waiting for to come out are taking too long. :/

I forget what happened at the end.

Okay since I always had a thing for winged creatures: angels, dragons, crowns whatever there is that has wings I'm going to read about it :D so right now I'm reading
;)
Eon is a wonderful series, Margo. I kept wanting to beat the hell out of Eon, but I loved both books.Reading
. I can't believe the series is over. It was the right number of books for it, I think.
Finished
and I understand the rave now. I'm amazed that both H/h can be 'functional' peoples...but they are more aware of theirs flaws, triggers than other characters in books I've read and are proactive about solving their problems...that's not to say they go the right way about it.
I think I mentioned before that book 1 of the Crossfire series is really good. Despite all of their issues, Eva and Gideon were making some progress. I think that all got ruined in the second book. I didn't like that book.
Now you see how we can read the same books and have opposite feelings. I prefer the second book of Crossfire even if the 1st half of it is shit - I like the ending :). I didn't get what the 1st book was actually about. Was it love, dysfunction relationship or lust? In second book I at least know that it was about love but first and the ending of Bared to You was so lame (mind you it is only my opinion so don't get offended) that I didn't even know it had ended. I thought I didn't get all the pages :/
I understand. There were plenty of people that really loved the second book. It just made me mad. I didn't feel like there was any real progress in Eva and Gideon's relationship until that bit at the end, but I didn't like how that situation was handled at all, so that didn't satisfy me. I do think they love each other, but lust is there just as much as love is. And its a really co-dependent obsessive love. It felt a bit too much at times and Gideon kept pissing me off. I get why he did things the way he did, but it irritated me to read all of that drama. I want to slap both of them.
I think that's why I read PNR, there is always something going on other than the drama. I'm not saying there is a spectacular plot or anything but the grueling day to day is a little different. Oh and Mello...because you mentioned co-dependent obsessive...I can't pass that old joke:
http://youtu.be/QXx-n6T7tZg
Now I'm going to have to click that link when I get home.I think that's why I read so much PNR, too. Even when the characters are having dumb relationship drama, at least there's usually something life-threatening going on to distract me from the romance drama. Especially when the romance drama feels contrived.
PNR the focus changes from the "job" or "task" to "love life" or lack thereof so even if something is not quite the way you would like it to be there's always something else to substitute it with.
Well, too much PNR and I have an indigestion. It's better to vary. I know it's always the same plot recipe whipped every time but I like the bland outline sometimes.I have a hard time with YA books, I know there are really good ones out there and I missed on all the classics already.
Right now I'm on
. I normally like Gena Showalter but despise high school drama. Does it get better?
@Margo True.@Val I need PNR breaks from time to time, too. I still haven't had a chance to get to Alice in Zombieland, yet, so I can't help there. I have seen people say they didn't care for the beginning, but that they ended up enjoying the book part way through.
Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. WardI had to stop re-reading Ghostwalker series ... Those books are only good once in a while, back to back you get tired of them real quick. Small doses and all that.
Since I have only re-read the first book in this series I don't want to get annoyed at it too. Good thing I have read it enough times that my OCD about reading a series out of order doesn't flare up and I can skip the annoying books. :x
Alice inZombieland was okay ... I normally like Gena Showalter too, but the angst and asshole boys in YA are getting annoying and this of course has some in it.
I liked it, but would not write home about it. If that makes any sense ... Her books are hit and miss to me sometimes.
Yeah, her Lords of the Underworld are pretty reliable. I tried 2 other of her series but was not fascinated.
Sarah ♥ Vutch forever ♥ wrote: "I'm sick of PNR. It's always the same. That's why I don't start new PNR series."I can't read the same style as the BDB or DH anymore. DH I can't give up, even though I get bored quickly, but BDB I'm done after Quinn/Blay book. I'm even considering selling my books (I got book 1-7 in paperback, and 8 and 9 in hardcover)

Okay so for a change of topic. I once mentioned that I've made a calendar for 2013 and Arushi asked me to send it to her which I did so to do that I changed it to from Polish version to English and so if any one of you would like to have a calendar with book covers for such books as
