What are you reading?
Okay then, I'm still on
and am liking it much more than the first book of the Hollow series. The 1st one I just wanted to finish it. Nothing really captivated me but anyway I started the second one and for now I'm not regretting it.
I'm back to Special Forces - Mercenaries Part I. It's a tough read and normally I'm not that emotional but damn...
Gin wrote: "I'm starting that one next week Lannister. I'm curious to know what you think about it"I've only managed three or four chapters, as I haven't had a lot of time for reading this week, but I'll keep you posted!
Margo--that's exactly how I felt.Mello-That is a good one!
Lannister--I want to read that so let me know how it goes :)

Is this suppose to be a PNR?
I'm still reading Fury's Kiss, I don't know whats wrong with me. I just can't get into it. Someone hit meupside the head.
@ Margo, keep reading because it only gets better and better. I had the same problem with the first book too. When Pale demon came out the first book was free for a time so I did not feel too bad about not being blown away by the story.@ Mello, go reading machine....I still have to read book 2 at some point.
I'm still on Lesser Evils
I'm debating if I want to read
since the ebook is free on Amazon right now. (http://www.amazon.com/Darkness-Falls-...)
Diane wrote: "Is this suppose to be a PNR? "No, I'm fairly sure it's straight UF. I've read so little of it that I can't truly judge, but I don't think it's too romance-focused.
Will say more when I've read on a bit.
Valerie, thanks for the Darkness Fall mention. I went to Amazon and got it. I mean Free if Free. I only have 103 books on my kindle to read so I'll eventuallyget to it.
I got the first in this series free on smashwords, finished it, and immediately bought the other 3 books in the series. If you like devious, plotting vampires who love to play politics amongst themselves and with a decent mystery, try this series by Elizabeth Hunter:
@Diane, I have a hoarding ebook problem so 103 books is nothing. The sad part is that if I find a good looking cover and it's free I will get it...reading it is another matter. Do we have a thread regarding freebies and good series? If we have one I could mention them as I find them. I have discovered good series that way.
@ Enjee, I have yet to read the first Elemental Mysteries that I got from Amazon.
Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ wrote: "Do we have a thread regarding freebies and good series? If we have one I could mention them as I find them. I have discovered good series that way. "Great idea Valerie!!! I'll get one set up pronto.
Thank you. :)
OK, I've sorted out a couple of threads. There was one there already asking for series recommendations, so I've changed the title to make it a little bit more obvious what it's about. I've also created a thread dedicated to cheap and free ebooks. The links are below, just for reference.Series recommendations:

I am really looking forward to that read now!
I just finished my 4th book this month, titled
Sins of the Soul (Otherkin, #2) by Eve Silver. My next book is
The Opal Deception (Artemis Fowl #4)by Eoin Colfer

"Fine, fine. After The Hollows series I'll give October Days another try. *whispers* I know you're doing on purpose Mello :p
Margo, we're doing a group read of the October Daye series starting in November, so you could wait till then and read it with a bunch of people if you like?
Finished Toke. It was okay. Now I have to read When Loss is Gain for work, and I am thinking of reading FK again. Any idea what else to read?
@ Lannister - I still have 7,5 books to read of The Hollows series but I think I should be done with it before November
been stuck in audit mode at work at the moment so all my reading has been regarding quality and stupid customs regulations BLEH! Until Pay day on re-reads when I get the opportunity at the moment and then I have about 20 books I wouldn't mind getting, I think I'mm gonna have to prioritize the ones I want this time round. Although this thread is dangerous as I always end up adding more to my want to read list.
Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ wrote: "You Mello are a reading machine. I am jealous."It's amazing I've been able to read anything. It's crazy busy.
@Arushi It really is a good series and it keeps on improving.
@Margo Lol!

Ridiculous. lol Bad influences!! :-P
Mello, I love the last 3 Toby Daye books. I can't wait till you get to Ashes of Honor!Margo, Keep going!!! :) LOL I'm sure you'll grow to love the series.
Claire, Yay!!! Glad finals are over for you ;)
Hahahaha, unfortunately not over! I have another midterm next week. But it's only one test so I'm going to make time for reading!
October Daye seems to be a series that people either hate or love; it's almost as if there is no middle ground on it.
Everyone knows I love the series, and I especially like that (view spoiler).
It's true that the first book was slow while trying to set up it's universe, and the second book started off that way but picked up. I have to compare it to The Hollows series. The first Rachel book was hard to get through it was so slow; in fact, I know several people, my daughter included, who just couldn't get through that first book and as a result, didn't read the series. I have never been able to get the kid to go back and read that Rachel Morgan book; she just won't do it.
I generally will get through the first book of a series and at least start on the second before I give up; that is, of course, unless the first book is complete trash.

Oh, and in the Zeenat tradition, I am currently reading "Into the Woods" , the Robert E. Howard Omnibus of 97 Collected Stories" , re-reading "Fury's Kiss" and getting ready to get back to "Kitty's Greatest Hits" - I should be done with these in about eight hours actual read time.
Oh, and we can't forget about the group read of the Kara Gillian series, followed by October Daye group read.

I have been loving the series Zeenat. It's been a while since I've found a straight UF to read that I've enjoyed this much. I've been reading so much PNR lately. So glad to have a new UF series to get into.
Claire wrote: "Hahahaha, unfortunately not over! I have another midterm next week. But it's only one test so I'm going to make time for reading!"Ugh good luck!
LOL @ Zeenat tradition: is it the fast reading or the reading of a lot of books at the same time? ;)Mello, I really consider the series to be a "dark fairy tale", because it essentially functions like that.
@Zeenat - I've always done both, so I guess it's a package deal!
LOL, well I'm only reading 4 books now :PRereading:
and
reading new:
and
(although this book barely gets touched cause i'm so busy)
I just finished Mark del Franco's last...wahhh...book,
Undone Deeds
, in the Connor Grey series. I hate that he is stopping here!
Claire wrote: "FINISHED!!!About to start reading it again.
Off to the spoiler thread!"
I am so proud of you :)
On the October Daye Series: I think I'll get all the books and then wait to start the series till the group read. Unless my patience runs out beforehand... humm.. maybe I will read FK again to kill time ;)
Daniel, you could always grab a few freebies instead. Granted for 10 crappy read there is one gem but surely those with high rating from Goodreads are worth your time.I'm reading
, so far it looks more of a 3 stars to me because there is not much world-building but the concept is interesting.
