Edgar and Ellen series or Percy Jackson.
Ooh, definitely the Dork Diaries. It's like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but from a girl's perspective (who's in seventh grade, BTW.) Also, I would recommend the Warriors series, if she likes cats at all. It's really appealing to girls her age and the series has an endless amount of books in it so she won't be bored for a while.
Depends what she likes. Sounds like she's not hooked by the typical YA "girls" books. If that's the case, try It's age appropriate, fast-paced, adventurous and doesn't focus on romance.
Gold Medal Threat"Gold Medal Threat, was very interesting and hard to put down. It is a perfect book for teens and preteens. It is written exactly how a teenager would think, act, and speak. It's amazing how in this book teens are treated as adults with respect. The story was very suspenseful and mysterious. The crime was a great choice for the setting. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. It was, without a doubt, one of the best books I have ever read." Breanna Gardner (age 12)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus,
The Hunger Games (be forewarned, much violence.)
Divergent
The Maze Runner (violence warning again.)
Sherlock holmes (Arthur Conan Doyle version, the originals.)
The Chronicles of Narnia
Beyond the Deepwoods
to name a few. Sorry about the couple of violent ones, but once you get past the violence they are really good books. Hope I helped!!
Please check out TREEHUGGER, the first book in a YA fantasy series called Based on a Dream. You really can't lose by trying it because it's FREE today for kindle on Amazon. It's a bit scifi, a bit fantasy, and leads to the second book, Risktaker, which is also out now. Two more books are coming.Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Treehugger-Base...

Good luck with your sis!
Hi, I would like to invite you to go and look at Poppy the troll on my website. He is a great animation and he tells you all about my new fantasy book. He is even flying on Willy the seagulls back pulling a sign with the name of the book. I love animation and I do not think you ever grow out of it if that is what you like to see. It might give you some ideas on how to write stories for yourself. So if you do not like reading others work why not write your own. Mary Filmer Children's Author http://maryfilmer.com/
The percy jackson series was amazing and got me reading more and i used to hate reading. Now i am obsessed with it!
