he cheats on her? the only way i can read cheating is if it's between two people, they break up, then the new couple is seriously in love. example is thoughtless and the mighty storm.

that is not what happens , unfortunately
You should still read the book. I don't condone cheating, but, to me, his actions doesn't warrant me hating him or the series. BTW, there was no sex.
He does not have sex but he does make out with someone. You have to read the books to get the entire scenario and to fully understand the depth of Alexander's character. The series is phenomenal.
