Welcome, Vera! :-)
I hope you'll soon find the time to read the Dorina series. It's awesome as well.

MadameGin, your RP sounds fantastic, and probably some folks in the group would enjoy reading the stuff you wrote. As Sarah posted, there's the two sentence fanfic if you want to write some stuff here, and we also have the email thread too, where you pretend that you're one character emailing another (the thread is here.) You'd be very welcome to post in those threads (and any other threads too, of course!) I should probably warn you that sometimes the comments tend to go very far out of the Cassieverse LOL! (this has nothing whatsoever to do with Crackpot Queen moderators, no sir!)
But we all know that Mircea and Marlowe are the OTP of the series! ;)
Also, Augustine and Radu. Those two drama queens are made for each other. :P
Hi Vera, welcome to the group, thanks for introducing yourself.Yup, you've got to get onto those Dory books ASAP! They're really enjoyable, and it's fun and interesting to see the Mighty Mircea through a different pair of eyes.
BDB, huh. Hmmmm, who's got the best hair? Phury or Mircea?! Anyone?
Hmmm, if I'm remembering right, V has short hair, yes? :)I think Phury's hair may be been the single greatest thing about the BDB books .... :P
Sarah ♥ Vutch forever ♥ wrote: "Welcome, Vera! :-)I hope you'll soon find the time to read the Dorina series. It's awesome as well."
Thank you, Sarah! :)
It migh be a while untill then, since they are not (dorina basarab series) being sold in my country /:
Can you believe that only now they've released the 2nd book of cassie's series?? The 1st one was released in 2008 in my country. WHAT THE HELL
I could've waited and waited to read the rest of the series... Thank god I found the magic land of amazon.com 8 years ago ;)

Heiii, thank you :)
So... you don't like BDB or just Phury's book? (I know it's not a topic for this forum, I'm just curious)
Mircea's hair is better... and much more masculine RAAW
I mean... multicolored hair doesn't sound that appealing
But I still love Phury along with MY other brothers :p
Vera, I'm not really a fan of Paranormal Romance (or romance in general). I like UF better. However I did read the first four(?) BDB books. They're OK, but all the lovey dovey bits annoy me a little. I liked the sound of Phury (and his hair!) and I always meant to read his book (it was the next one in the series) but I've never got round to it. I need to space out romance books (with about a year at least in between LOL) or they drive me nuts! Also, I don't know how the pricing on this site compares when you convert to your currency, but Book Depository ships worldwide for free:
www.bookdepository.com
I find that they're often the cheapest if you pre-order before the book comes out. I'm in the UK though, where they're based, and they might be more expensive for you. Just thought I'd mention them. :)
Ooooh, MadameGin, please publish your RP as fanfic! You could add notations of POV if needed. I promise you will find that lots of people over it.
I can't wait to read it!

Yeah, a friend of mine told me about that site, not too long ago. My last order came from there and it really is cheaper than amazon!
Still, thanks for the advice ;)

Well, you've convinced me. Just let me tell my partner and I'll post them somewhere ;)

Only saw your reply now, sorry Sarah. Yep, I've read them all and the chapter for the next book. Thank god for that! Took a bit of the sting out of the cliffhanger ;)

1. Where in the world are you?Des Moines, Iowa, it's not as boring as it sounds, I swear. But I also travel the US frequently so take that as you will.
2. What's your favourite book/series?
The Cassie Palmer series is my favorite. I got into SciFi/Fantasy via Star Wars back in the early 90's. Then the early Anita Blake series drew me in (pre-arduer Anita, hopefully I spelled that right). I started searching out Urban Fantasy after than and eventually stumbled upon Cassie. Her wit and strength of character really drew me in.
3. Tell us why you chose the avatar you have?
Do I have an avatar?? I used my Facebook account as my sign in so I bet it's just my Facebook profile pic. If that's the case it's me dressed as the Tenth Doctor at a pole dancing competition.
4. Name a famous person that makes you swoon?
Robert Downey Jr and David Tennant, it's a tie
5. What's your favourite dessert?
Vanilla cake with tons and tons of icing. But since I'm working on dropping pounds for aforementioned pole competition, lately it's Quest Peanutbutter Cups.
6. Anything else you want to share about yourself?
I'm a costuming, pole dancing, math professor who also owns her own business. Proud nerd and I'm raising my little one to be the same.
Bonus question for those who've read both the Cassie and the Dory books:
Are you Team Cassie or Team Dory?
Team Cassie. I don't dislike Dory, but I'm just not that into the vampire side of things. Ironically, I like books with vampires, I just don't like vampires very much. That said, I did find myself liking Dory much more on a re-read.

Ooh, you posted in the introduction thread too - officially welcome to the group then, nice to meet you in some detail! :)
Lovely to see more Star Wards/Whovian nerds! I also am an ex-AB fan, the early books were quite promising.
Grats on the pole skills, can't see many details but the pose in the profile pic already seems strenuous enough, lol. Kudos to you for pursuing the sport!
Happy to hear your favourite series is Cassie, sounds like you'll have a lot to say about the books :D (I'm more team Dory myself).
See you around in the other threads then! ~
Welcome to the group, Dajuan, and thank you for answering the questions!
A Dr. Who Fan! Yay!!! :-D
I hope you'll like our little group. Feel free to join our discussions and share your thoughts and crazy theories about Cassie and Dory.

Hi everyoneI live near the New Forest (near Ringwood) in the UK.
I obviously love Karen Chance books but also Ilona Andrews, Kim Harrison (currently) and many others although I have found quite a few that were easy to leave before finishing.
I dont think I have an avatar.
Getting too old to swoon safely :) but I have loved movie stars - Charles Bronson (showing my age here). Really like Robert Redford, Pierce Brosnan and too many others to name. In Karen chance books it has to be Mircea - I SO like him.
Favourite dessert - has to be a cocktail - forget desserts.
Sharing - well I am retired now so I read far too many books particularly since I got a kindle. Hopefully from this group I will find other authors and series that I have missed as well as reread Karen Chance books. I have a young working GSD that I should be training more while reading less. I also like photography.
And I probably talk too much - Sue
Hi Sue, nice to meet you! It's nice to see a few more people who appreciate Mircea! (I know his character appeals only to a niche of readers.)
Don't worry about talking too much, there's literally hundreds of pages of conversations in the forum threads, so I hope you will find opportunities to add your own! See you around on the other threads ~
Welcome to the group, Sue!
Mircea is my favorite character as well. He has been from the start and I enjoy every scene with him.
I'm a dog owner too. Charly is not a working dog though. He's a 14 year old Bullterrier/American Staffordshire Terrier mix. Maybe we can talk about dog books as well. ;-)

Sarah - Read Don't Shoot the Dog by Karen Pryor. It is on training but I believe she started the clicker training amongst normal people. She was training dolphins. Amazing read.Sorry - you did ask ........
I already read that one! :-D
To be honest, I read more "dog books" (behavior, training) now than fiction.

The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett 🌍

5. What's your favourite dessert?
Anything with chocolate 🍫
6. Anything else you want to share about yourself?

Team Cassie! She never knows what she's doing half the time, and I can totally relate to that 😁 But I love Dory too!
I've joined a few groups but this is the first one with prompts and it was really fun! Looking forward to finding some new authors to love 📚
Hi everyone,I started reading the Cassie Palmer and Dorina Basarab series this year and I’ve been secretly lurking on this forum for a while now. I got totally sucked into the world Karen Chance created. Now I am looking forward to the next Dory book, so I finally decided to join the group to chat about it… well, once I get my hands on it. :)
1. Where in the world are you?
Luxembourg/Europe
2. What's your favourite book/series?
A Song of Ice and Fire
I like fantasy, science-fiction, historical fiction and horror. I enjoy books with extensive world-building, a huge number of POVs and complex characters. I suppose that’s what made me like the Cassie Palmer books in the first place, I especially like the vampire society Karen Chance created with all the complexity and political scheming.
3. Tell us why you chose the avatar you have?
It’s my 4 months old Maine Coon kitten. I am spending a lot of time with him.
4. Name a famous person that makes you swoon?
Chris Hemsworth (like most people it seems), especially as Thor with long hair. I like long hair…
In the Cassiverse it’s Mircea (more long hair) and Marlowe (I like curls too. And bad boys of course). Seriously, I would so love a book with these two as main characters! That would so make my day… and night!
5. What's your favourite dessert?
“Ile flottante” or dark chocolate.
6. Anything else you want to share about yourself?
I like video games. I mainly play RPGs, strategy and city-building games. I am also currently busy with my private piloting license.
Are you Team Cassie or Team Dory?
100% Team Dory. I used to like Cassie, but she is getting on my nerves in recent books. I continue reading her series mostly for the side characters.
Welcome Aphelia and Selennia :D I hope you'll join in on our discussions and come up with some crackpot theories ^^
Hi all!1. I'm from Chicago
2. This is a hard one! I'll go with the books that started me on my love for fantasy the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice
3. Well, my cat is a big part of my reading experience in that she seems to take great offense to me reading and will do just about anything to stop me.
4. Ian Somerhalder, Sam Heughan
5. Nutella banana donuts from a local donut shop...mmmm
6. I happily accept friend requests! I'm an open book, ask away
Bonus - can't choose, won't choose, love them both!
Books mentioned in this topic
Angelfall (other topics)Shadow and Bone (other topics)

2. Hmm... that's a difficult one ;) even though i HAVEN'T STILL read Dorina Basarab series I think it's safe to say I LOVE every single book Karen Chance writes; I'm also in love with the black dagger brotherhood series by J.R. Ward; the mortal instruments by Cassandra Clare; and throne of glass series by Sarah j. Maas
3. It's the best pic I have of myself ;)
4. David Gandy
5. Panna cotta with red fruit sauce
6. I very much enjoy going out with my friends... BUT many times I'd rather be home reading my books (my babies) enjoying the sound of good music :)
