I loved him in Eastern Promises.

Do you like his art?

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I don't think I've seen his art. . .

Same here. That's why I admire this so much.

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Missdevora, You definitely top the coolness scale by coming from Transylvania!! :) I'm with you on wishing it was summer all year round too. Though I think winter in Spain is somewhat different from winter in Scotland!

Zeenat, I think I've only seen Viggo in one other movie, but I agree that the LotR look is what does it for me too!

Now you make me blush :P

I'm not sure how's winter in Scotland (Normally snows, right?)but here in the middle of the mediterranean in winter rains and the air is normally humid. Now in the mornings you need a jaCket and at 12 you can walk with a sleeveless shirt or top...crazy weater!

In which one? Cause he has plenty...I also liked him in Alatriste and The Road.

1. I'm in the US in Kentucky.
2. Favorite series-- At the top Fever books and anything by Karen Chance. Also like Jeanine Frost, Katie MacAlister, Mercy Thompson series, Rachel Morgan series, Sookie Stackhouse, Eileen Wilks Lupi series, Nalini Singh series, Jane Yellowrock, just to name a few. Also love Deborah Harness All Soul's Triology. Have followed Karen Chance since her first Cassie book.
3.Don't have one
4.No one especially
5.Just one? Peach and coconut pie
6. Love to read. Really enjoy the urban fantasy series and world building. So interesting how so many common issues can be dealt with in another world and love the imaginative nature of these books. Really love to discuss plots and points of interest so that's why I joined this group.

Welome to the group, Cathy! :-)

message 67: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Hey Cathy! Welcome along :)

You've got some good choices in books. Will you be reading Iced at some point? I have the second Deborah Harkness book in my To Read pile, since it features a certain Christopher Marlowe (of whom I'm a big fan!!)

Hope you enjoy the group. You need to answer the really big questions now ... Do you prefer Cassie or Dory and are you Team Pritkin or Team Mircea?? (These are even more important than choice of dessert!)

I should actually add those questions to my initial post LOL!

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

As long as she's not team Dory - there's already too much competition! LOL!

message 69: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments We know Dory's all yours Duane ... well, as soon as you get rid of LC! Good luck with that!! :D

message 70: by Gin (new)

Gin | 323 comments Love how you didn't even put team Marlowe as an option, Lannister. Don't want too many people to share with, huh?

message 71: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments LMAO!! Damn, you figured me out Gin!! :D

Yes, Team Marlowe, Team Dory and Team Stinky will be added as options! :)

message 72: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments 1. Cibolo, Texas, though I was born and raised in San Bernardino, California and have lived in LA and WA states. Some how I have all of my driver’s licenses from each state, except Texas I so can’t pass the vision test now.
2. Some of my “comfort books”, the series I go back to that I know make me laugh or just enhance my ostriching experience: Elizabeth Hoyt, Maiden Lane; Ilona Andrews, Kate Daniels; Jeaniene Frost, All things Night Huntress; Karen Chance, Cassie and Dori; Kresley Cole, IMD; Kerrilyn Sparks, Love at Stake; Laura Griffin, Tracers; Larissa Ione, Everything; Lynsay Sans, Argeneau; Melissa Mayhue Daughters of the Glen/Warriors; Nalini Singh, Guild Hunter, Psy-changelings; Suzanne Brockmann, trouble shooters; Sandra Hill, Viking II; Sherrilyn Kenyon, Dark-Hunters, League … way too many books/series.
3. Reasons why I have the avatar I have … 1.) I totally forgot about avs, 2.) Don’t see the point of changing it, and finally 3.) Default avs are awesome.
4. Urm, I have never really had a famous person I swooned over. I have thought “hey they are hot”, but that is about it. I am so boring …
5. Mint Oreo blizzards … DQ was an ok trade off for in and out burgers.
6. I had a major stroke in ’07 which made me blind, took 95% of my sense of smell/taste. I did eventually get some new hips though; my mom refuses to go along with me saying I won because I got new hips before her. I read a lot … like a lot. I have always loved to read, instead of haunting libraries I can be obsessive about reading/getting books in the comfort of my room @ my comp. I am not sure what else to say since my life is pretty boring now. I used to be big into online gaming till I lost my sight; my l33t gaming skills don’t work when you can’t see crap. I spent a few years hanging with gamer geeks so my sense of humor is warped and can be juvenile at times. I am still a geek, but I guess now I am a book nerd now. My GR book shelves are scary … Oh, and I talk and say too much.
Kk done

The word differences can be pretty freakin' funny sometimes ... and sometimes they just make me WTF. lol

message 76: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Anna, thanks for taking the time to answer these questions! Don't worry about the time lag. Taking part is the most important thing. :)

I think I'm Team Dory these days but probably by the time the next Cassie book is out I'll be back to being Team Cassie, cos women are allowed to change their minds, right? :)

Ela | 227 comments 1. From: England
2. Favourite sereies: Mercy Thompson, Kate Daniels/Andrea Nash, Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, Chaos Walking, Skulduggery Pleasant, The Mortal Instruments (I'll stop now otherwise I'll just go on forever)
3. Currently my avatar is a picture of Caroline/Tyler/Klaus from The Vampire Diares, I love that series and Caroline is probably my favourite character so I can't wait to see who she ends up with!
4. Ian Somerhalder, he's great as Damon on TVD and when I saw on twitter that he was looking after abandoned kittens...True Love XD
5. You cannot beat a good strawberry tart, even better if it's French
6. I'm joining because I'm halfway through Fury's Kiss and I need somewhere to obsess! Also I just finished the first book and season of Game of Thones; I loved it and now really want a direwolf :)

As far as teams go I'm team Dory over Cassie and team Pritkin over Mircea.

message 78: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Hi Ela, welcome to the group! Man, I haven't had a strawberry tart in forever, and there's a nice bakery fairly near where I live that does the most amazing ones! (You know, the kind where you end up with cream all over your face. Those are the best kind LOL!)

We've got a spoiler and a no-spoiler thread for Fury's Kiss, so if you want to talk about the book, go ahead! Be aware that we've talked about the end a lot in the spoiler thread though. And yay, Game of Thrones! Team Lannister forever!! :D *dodges the rotten fruit and half bricks being thrown*

message 79: by Ela (last edited Nov 08, 2012 08:00AM) (new)

Ela | 227 comments Thanx :D Those strawberry tarts sound amazing...I'm now trying to quench a sudden dramatic desire to go out, find a strawberry tart and eat it all.

Team Lannister!! How can you be team Lannister!! I could understand liking Tyrion but Joffery, Cersei and Jaime...???

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments Speaking of messy food … try beignets. One of the few times I went to the quarter when I lived in the NOLA area I ate at Café Du Monde … good thing the bulk is outside. Powdered … sugar … everywhere. I don’t think it is possible not to make some sort of mess when eating one and they are so very good.

Yes and chickory coffee ... though I have NFI. I don't drink coffee, if I need caffeine I drink mt. dew like a good geek.
I learned a lot living there for '02-'06, I can only just say it cemented my thoughts that people are weird.

message 91: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 3 comments Hi, I'm Sabrina. I'm new to the group but I have been following the forums for a while now. You all seem a bit crazy, but that's what makes this place so much fun. So, for het questions.
1. I'm from Antwerp, Belgium.
2. Cassandra Palmer, Dorina Basarab, The Hollows, Kara Gillian, Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, Black Jewels Trilogie,... Far to many to name really. As long as it is fantasy, I will read it.
3. My avatar is one I got from my sister. Unfortunatly it's a little to small to read, so this is what it says: "Caution raving fangirl ahead. Beware of muses, plotbunnies, inexplicable squee and coveting" It just seemed appropriate.
4. I've never really swooned over someone, but there are some people who I find attractive, like Viggo Mortensen, Brad Pitt (in the new Chanel No 5 commercial), Hugh Laurie, John Pritkin ;-p just the more ruggedly(?) looking men.
5. Anything with chocolate (hey, I live in Belgium, how can I not love chocolate?)
6. I'm also a big Doctor Who fan, and love My Little Pony: Frienschip is Magic (yes, I know, a little girls show, but I stil love it).
I love both Cassie and Dorina equally, and I am definatly on Team Pritking. I don't really like Mircea in the Cassie books, but he is growing more on me sinds Fury's Kiss.
And that was me. This introduction has become a bit longer than I was planning, sorry for that.
