Hi Audible,First of all, I'm a big fan. I've been so impressed with your customer service and overall value.
I have one small suggestion: When I'm in my Wish List and want to sort by price, it would be great if it didn't sort by "regular price." Members like me don't care about the price non-members pay; we want to see the sort by the actual price for us, which is either the "member price" or "sale price." I can imagine there are some technical hurdles to that, but one would hope that your folks would work to prioritize the Wish List experience for your members.
Thanks,
Kristie
Ohhhh - that's why it "didn't work" (didn't sort in numerical order) when I tried it this past weekend.
+100000 - and thanks :-)

I don't know why they would sort by regular price. If I were Audible, and the technology only let me sort by one variable, I'd want to cater to my members and let the non-members tough it out without that sorting ability. Are there that many non-members who purchase from Audible?
It helped me today, though. I was deciding whether to wait 6 hours for a credit or use my $10 coupon. Knowing I would save 66% off the regular price made it worthwhile. But I do hope they implement your suggestion.

UGH I have a question about the new design of my library I DO NOT have a Kindle so no I don't want to buy the matching ebook can I get rid of that column??
They're owned by Amazon. My guess is "not likely".

On the website
yes, now i see it -- i was signed in to an inactive account that still has the old library. my current account has it. looks very different!
Hello Audible, I hope you are well this special holiday season--June is audiobook month after all and that makes it a holiday in my book (no pun intended). I hav a couple of issues...
What's the purpose of the new Library format? Other than the Kindle column and the easier grouping of parts, that is. Is there a single button that would allow me to download the entire book without having to do individual parts? If not, that would be one of my suggestions.
But the new display displays in a screwy way sometimes. I needed to redownload a book that was three parts but only one part displayed. I tried again and still only one part displayed, a different one that time. Today I tried again and the third part displayed by itself, even though it said it was showing 1-3 of 3. Sigh.
And I get the message on there that doing a written review is unavailable. When I clicked the "Why" button, nothing happened. So, what's up with that?
Another issue, can Audible have a Clearance sale or something when books are about to go off the site? It's been happening a lot lately where books previously listed are no longer available. I'm mostly aware of it because of the Hamish Macbeth series by M. C. Beaton because I have all but four books missing from the middle of the series and have been watching for those books closely. A little while back all but one Davina Porter narration disappeared from the series, removing books 1-14 from the site. Then a second male narrator's versions appeared and doubled many of the later books but many of the early ones appeared too. Now all of those are gone again. I mean, what's up with that?
It makes me nervous to try to acquire a series slowly over time for fear that some of the books will disappear before I can get to them. But I don't want to spend all my credits at once buying an entire series I may decide to abandon if it goes off in a wrong direction for my tastes. Is there any way Audible can at least warn us which books might disappear?
Thank you for your participation in this thread and happy holidays!
Hi Jeanie! We're sorry to hear of your difficulty in downloading your audiobooks. You can download an entire audiobook (all parts) as one file by changing the format to "Enhanced". Alternatively, you can download each individual part while in Enhanced by clicking on the black triangle to the left of the title to expand the selection. If you are in format "4", the audiobook can only be downloaded in individual parts.
However, since you are having difficulty downloading your audiobooks and accessing the written reviews, we will need some more information: such as, your email address associated with your Audible account, the titles that did not download properly and screen shots of this issue (if possible). This information will assist our Tech team while they investigate this issue.
Please email us at social-support@audible.com when you have the chance, so we can get this sorted out for you and any other loyal customer that might be experiencing this issue. Also, feel free to include any other questions you might have in your email.
As for having a clearance sale, we currently do not have any plans for a promotion like this. With that said, we think it’s a great idea and we have forwarded your suggestion to our Marketing team for further consideration. If you have any other suggestions, please send them to greatideas@audible.com.
We look forward to hearing from you!
while i appreciate the sales, this current one seems totally random. "customer favorites," yet i see more than a few books with very few reviews and averages below 3.5 stars. that said, i am probably getting at least one title. i noticed that the sale cleverly includes a few second books in series that were in the "first in a series" sale.
Hello, Audible! Some of my friends over at Ravelry's audiobook group have just realized there's a change for the worse in the new Library layout. There used to be a big checkmark to let you know you'd downloaded an audiobook or segments thereof. That's gone now, and it's a problem for them not to be able to know which books they've downloaded.
Is there any hope that some means of showing that a book has been downloaded will return to the Library page?
That IS weird. I always use the mobile site, but I visited the regular site and discovered titles I KNOW I've DLed have the DL button.
I also prefer a Downloaded indicator.I have a question about the Enhanced format. I've heard some say it uses more memory and is best for burning to CD but doesn't produce a noticeably better audio otherwise. I like the idea of one-click downloading, but storage capacity can be an issue. Anyone out there with any experience with this?
PS: If another nearly identical post shows up, I got an error message the first time and re-wrote this, so...

Hi CatBookMom!
After removing it, we received a lot of feedback and requests to bring the "Downloaded" column back to the Library. The feedback from our loyal listeners has been heard! We have just added this feature back to our site this morning.

I'll be sure to pass along the news, for those who haven't seen the change already. Thanks. Glad to know Audible is listening to its members.
Thank you, Audible, for responding to my question on Twitter (about content availability). Your app is the best iOS app in my collection.

Enjoy your day!
This issue came up on another thread... identical versions of an audiobook listed separately because they are offered by two different publishers or were originally free or part of some promotion but now are sold with a different price/for credit. This becomes an issue if you're not sure you own the title or know you do but the version for sale is not indicated as currently in your library. Also, reviews of the free version don't show up once the title is for regular sale. And two different publishers with the same version--same narrator--also have two different sets of reviews. I'm not sure how Audible can resolve this without shorting one publisher over another, but it really becomes confusing for a listener when a title comes up on sale and already-owned titles can be bought a second time--this does not include versions by two different narrators. I've also found helpful reviews under one version but not under the other--perhaps reviews at least could be consolidated?
I noticed with the change in the library that books are now available with a single file. I re-downloaded many of my favorite books only to find out that many of them had lost the chapter bookmarks for the second/third section that had been added. This was very frustrating. Is there going to be work done so that the bookmarks are added back or should I go back and grab the multi-part versions? Some indication that the joined 1 file has all the chapters marked would be great as well. I noticed that newer books released have all the chapter bookmarks through the single audio file.
Vic wrote: "I noticed with the change in the library that books are now available with a single file. I re-downloaded many of my favorite books only to find out that many of them had lost the chapter bookmark..."Hi Vic,
We're very sorry for this inconvenience. The reason why the bookmarks were removed is because the audiobook was re-downloaded. When an audiobook is deleted or re-download, the bookmarks are removed as well because they are saved to that specific copy.
As for indicating which download contains all the parts or individual parts, if the file name contains, for example, "Part1", then it would be an individual file. On the other hand, the entire audiobook would not have a part number. However, we agree that this should indicated in a clearer way so we have sent this suggestion to the proper department to be taken into consideration.
If you have any other questions, please email social-support@audible.com.
Just wanted a place to vent my frustration with Audible. I've had such good experiences with Audible customer service in the past, and now I'm frustrated with them. It's been a week since I activated a 3-month gift membership which disappeared after a couple of hours. Now I'm back to non-member status again, although they did give me my credits back when I called, but they still haven't reactivated my membership. I don't see how hard it could be. They could just give me another code to enter or something. Surely it can't be too difficult. I've called and emailed and they say they have no time frame of when the problem will be fixed. I'm afraid this will drag on and I'll miss some important sales, especially since this is audiobook month. They'll probably have great sales.Anyway, just wanted to vent. I shouldn't have bragged so much on their customer service.
Do you use Twitter? I asked a question and got an immediate response using that method.
weren't you already a member? because i've seen you posting on other threads about audible sales etc
I've had different kinds of Audible memberships over the years. This last year I've been using 3-month gift memberships, one after the other. I bought 4 of them when they were on sale last year so that I got credits for $10 each. My plan had been to spread them out and just use them when I wanted something or when they had a sale I wanted to participate in. I ended up using them all pretty close together though. This was my last one. The other 3 worked fine, but I tried overlapping these last 2 and that didn't work out so well.
Jennifer (E-reads, E-listens, E-breathes) wrote: "Do you use Twitter? I asked a question and got an immediate response using that method."No, I'm not on twitter. I've gotten several responses back, none of them helpful. I just hope they get it resolved soon.
Before I bought the memberships, I asked them if I could buy them for myself and they said that was fine. I had been wondering myself.
You said you used them fairly quickly, is there a reason you won't get a Platinum membership where you get 24 credits to use any time with a credit cost of $9.56 per book? I know it may be a lot of money up front, but if you are buying increasing numbers of audiobooks it may be worthwhile--especially for sales that use credits.
I was trying to cut back on audiobooks since they are piling up, and I get a lot more through the library now. These memberships just offered one credit a month at the $10 rate, so I thought that I would try that out, and it's worked great.

I went back into iTunes, deleted the book but kept the file and then re-added them to Library and now I see all the chapter bookmarks! Only downside is now I can't see which years I added the books originally but that's such a small thing. I'm very happy to have the book in a single audio file!

I have a suggestion about the Audible app on the iPod. It would be nice to be able to look up the info on a book without having to start playing it. Sometimes, I want to read the description or see the full title or the narrator's name, but I have to actually go into the recording to do that. If there is a way to do that now, I'd like to know how. Thanks.

I have an additional suggestion for the app: When I choose to shop the Audible site from the app, it would be helpful to automatically log into the site. Not sure if it is possible, but it is annoying to have to log in to the site...
Apple doesn't allow third-party retailers to have shops on their apps :(
well, they do...but said retailer has to be willing to cough up 30% of all profits derived from that shop to apple...unless they have changed their stance
Sorry, should have clarified :)
I only noticed last week or the week before, but I just wanted to tell Audible thanks for returning the Wish List link to the main page. It was aggravating to have to take an extra step to get there so this is a welcome development. Thanks again, Audible, y'all are awesome.
Hello Audible,I've been perusing my wish list (which is back on the home page thank you) and speaking for myself - am wondering if it is possible to include the length of the audiobooks that are housed on the wish list pages? Length of an audiobook is always a consideration when I am searching for my next listen and the current setup means I have to page back and forth. I wonder if this would be helpful to anyone else?

Yep. As I posted before, sexist, but typical of the 30s and 40s mysteries.
Given the much more annoying c*%p I put up with as a female in accounting in the very early 70s, the sort of sexist nonsense in the Nero Wolfe mysteries is easy to ignore.
