I ended up deleting and re-installing it now it's working sure glad I wasn't in the middle of a book and lost my place .

All stats back to zero again
I couldn't care less about the badges as every time I get close to them you mess it up and I have to start again.
But my stats of the hours I read over the last months have all been reset too.
What's the point of you syncing the cloud for badges if all you do is take away the other stats?
Utter rubbish. (Again!)

Oh yeah, I know. Happened to me too. I wish they'd just get rid of it, or do it properly. I'm not one of the "At least they tried" school of thought. I'm more the "If you aren't going to do it properly, don't".

Audible Support (audible_com) | 260 comments Hey all,

We're so sorry if you lost your listening levels after our v.2.3 update. Even after prolonged testing, we did not anticipate the bug that caused this issue. Just to let you know, our team has submitted the fix to Apple and we are just waiting on them to approve and release it to the AppStore. All your stats will be saved to the Cloud going forward.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

message 1106: by Michael (new)

Michael (mobe1969) | 463 comments Wasn't just Apple. It was all lost on Android too. So I hope you are fixing it with the Google play version too...

Deano | 104 comments Oh and another tip for you
Don't make the bar graph and the info of how any hours (when you tap on it) the same colour. Or when it overlaps on the bar next to it you won't be able to see it.
Simples.....

message 1111: by Hunchback Jack (new)

Hunchback Jack | 545 comments A question on the daily/monthly usage graphs: the most recent day/month is on the left. Has it always been like that? I could've sworn the most recent used to be on the right.

In any case, oldest to newest going left to right would be a lot more intuitive. Most people expect graphs to have time running forward along the x axis, I would think.

Just my 2c.

MissSusie | 2430 comments It seems like every time we have a $10 coupon someone asks this so I am going to ask again....

Please Audible let us search by price I have $2.73 left of my coupon and would love to be able to search by price...I can search by price in my wishlist so why can't I search by price on the rest of the site??

message 1113: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Turner (plainkayla) | 17 comments Because you would get literally hundreds of thousands of hits.
When you query to return that kind of data you have to program certain prerequisites in.
Having someone search by 2.00 or a specific amount would most likely cause a huge flood in data crashing the site or slowing it down if everyone searched for a specific price at once.

Doing it from a wish list is having it return on a much smaller scale, which is more easily manageable.
:)

message 1114: by MissSusie (new)

MissSusie | 2430 comments I'm not looking to search by 2.00 I am asking for in the dropdown relevance- best selling-date etc... to have one of those options price.

message 1115: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Turner (plainkayla) | 17 comments Right, I agree that would be a nice feature.

They do offer that option on Amazon for audible's books (because they are both owned by Amazon).

Go to "Shop by department"
"Books and Audible"
"Audible Audiobooks"
Pick a genre, then on the right hand side there is a "Sort by" drop down where you may select "Low To High"

Everything about checkout is the same, and you should still be able to use coupons and your credits to purchase when buying through Amazon.

I hope this helps. Hopefully Audible will change their site to allow this from them directly, but for now at least we have the option of searching via Amazon.

Drew | 45 comments I'm just hoping one day I can listen to my non-audible books through the app at more than 1X speed then I'd have one app to rule them all.

message 1117: by Hunchback Jack (new)

Hunchback Jack | 545 comments That, and support chapters. I'll even convert my mp3s to m4b with chapters, if the app would pay attention to them.

Does anyone have a way to chapterize audiobooks in a way the app will recognize?

I am so with you on this! I mistakenly bought a few books on sale through Apple a few months ago, and it is so frustrating not having chapters or more than 1x speed! I'm never buying audios through Apple again!

Audiothing Jennifer (President, Chronic Complainers Not-so-Anonymous) wrote: "They do. But some people like to be reminded of certain passages, I guess."

If you "tap" book mark , when you go in to bookmarks, it will give the time in hours, minutes and seconds.
It's a handy way of marking where the errors are, and with least interruption to listening. This is important when reviewing.
When it automatically bookmarks, no data is recorded.

Hey MissSusie,

We will forward your feedback on a "by price" sorting option for consideration. In the meantime, please bookmark our Under $10 page: http://www.audible.com/mt/BestUnder10

Hope this helps!

Joan Roman Pavlick | 123 comments Just wondering does the $10 credit get applied to your monthly credit that we subscribe to? Just wondering before I use it up since right now I have so many books to listen to I am letting it sit for a bit till after the new year or is there a time limit on this credit?

No, you need to pay for a book without a credit to use the coupon, so you put it toward the member price of the book. It can't be applied to the cost of your credit. I believe the credit from the "Listener Rewards Month" offer in November expires 12/31/14. Wouldn't be a bad idea to use it today while books are still discounted on their most current sale.

That link was good, thank you! (although of course it's only a selection) I found that Andy Weir, author of The Martian, has a short (8 minute) story. Usually I wouldn't pay for something so short but it was only 1.55.

Followup - it was worth it, I'll be playing it for my Sunday School class as it's about The Meaning of Life - in 8 minutes.

1 or 2 email exchanges but no solution "we're working on the problem and you should hear from us in a few business days".
That was 2 weeks ago.
Maybe they are planning another update because of all the bugs that came out of this last one and that's why there has been no other resolution?

message 1133: by Julie (new)

Julie | 103 comments I have a request for the Android app. Where is the best place to give feedback for that?

My idea is simple (to me)... a narrator filter. We already can filter by author, title, or length of piece. I think filtering by narrator would be great since there are plenty of books I've bought or got curious about because of the narrator.

message 1134: by [deleted user] (new)

+1. In 2015, I want to listen to the books in my library according to some predetermined order. I've settled on author name, because narrator name isn't searchable.

message 1135: by Brian (new)

Brian Rueger (skypilot49) | 11 comments Julie, if you use OverDrive or OneClick, you can filter via narrators.

message 1136: by Brian (new)

Brian Rueger (skypilot49) | 11 comments Also, you can check - many narrators have their own websites. And, you can put the narrator in the Goodreads search box.

Robin P | 1765 comments I got an Amazon gift card for Xmas and I saw that audiobooks come up on the main Amazon site. I was pretty sure I couldn't use the gift card for Audible as we had discussed that before. But I did an online chat & after 2 reps and 10 minutes I was told yes, I could use my Amazon card for an Audible purchase. Then of course, it didn't work, so I did a new chat and was told the first info was incorrect.

message 1138: by John, Moderator (new)

John | 3948 comments Our Audible rep here was pretty firm on that a while ago. Last night, I used gift money to buy the Kindle sequel to Tilt-a-Whirl, after checking the Whispersync bundle option. Almost immediately, I got a confirmation that my credit card had been charged (the correct lower price) by Audible.

message 1139: by Robin P (last edited Jan 03, 2015 07:00PM) (new)

Robin P | 1765 comments Yes, I was quite sure it wasn't usable, I was surprised it took them so long to come up with the (wrong) answer. Not a problem as I'm sure I'll find things on Amazon to buy. Just a concern about poor training, the first rep said he was sending me to an Audible rep and that's the person who said yes, it was ok. I did send the whole chat to the 3rd, correctly informed, rep so she could address the issue, she apologized nicely.

message 1140: by Kirsty (new)

Kirsty Sorry I really wasn't sure where to put this question. I've recently signed up to Audible.com and I know that for the price you pay you get one credit a month to spend on any audio book.

My question is how will I know when I get my next credit, will I get an email or a notification from the app?

message 1141: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Turner (plainkayla) | 17 comments You will relieve an email when your new credit is available, and it should tell you in settings. I believe it's the same date your payment comes out.

message 1142: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1962 comments and its a rolling date - so if you sign up on the 24th and Kayla signs up on the 25th (for example), you get yours on the 24th, she gets hers on the 25th

Kirsty you'd probably be much better off buying 12 or 24 credits all at once, after the introductory deal has finished. It works out much less expensive per credit, you can use them when you want and you'll get access to deals that won't even show up if you haven't got the credits like BOGOF, three for two (fairly frequent) and spend 4 credits get $10 Audible voucher (usually once or twice a year).

I can't do them all at once. I'd blow them all right away and end up spending more to buy additional credits when sales come up. It's easier for me to just get my two a month.

binter | 218 comments Perhaps I should reconsider my Audible approach. I have the opposite problem to Sarah. I use my credits up sooo slowly - I'm pretty miserly with them. I switched to Listener Light but get terribly aggravated (and annoy everyone with my whining) when I can't participate in deals.

If I were to switch to the 12-per-year program, I would get access to all sales and deals but...
Do credits roll-over if I don't use them up within a year? I assume I am locked-in to buying another batch of 12 after a year, whether I need them or not. I suppose I could switch back to Listener Light just before that happened if I really had a large surplus of credits.

Once a year you can put your account on a 3 month hold and keep your credits, so you could have 15 months to spend all of your credits. Otherwise you would have to renew to keep the credits you haven't used.

The 12 @ a time membership allows you to carry over 6 credits. You could switch every other year to Audible Lite, I think.
