If you change the audio quality, you can download smaller files. I usually download in format 4, and I can download Outlander in 4 parts, 8+ hours each.

You're welcome. I remember being a little upset when they automatically changed everything over to the enhanced format and everything was different. An email now and then explaining some of their changes/updates wouldn't be unwelcome.

Sorry, MissSusie, I didn't realize it depended on the quality you selected. I use enhanced format.HBJ
I think this query might be put to you here:I am currently working my way through the Hamish Macbeth series on Audible, excellently narrated by David Monteath; however, I am about to finish Book 20, "Death of a Poison Pen", but am unable to locate Book 21, "Death of a Bore". And, yet, I can find the later books in the series by the same narrator.
I am resident in the UK, and note there is another audio rendition by a different narrator, Graeme Malcolm. I am unable to download this edition in the UK from the Audible US site. Besides which, I am reluctant to purchase the CDs from the U.S. for just one book, as I have grown accustomed to David Monteath's characterisations.
Does Audible have plans to record "Death of a Poison Pen" with Mr. Monteath, or release the current audio version in the UK?

Dear Ancestral,
Thank you for your interest in this title! At this time, we do not have any info on "Death of a Poison Pen".
Please send your request to content_uk@audible.co.uk. for consideration.

I wish you the best of luck. As another Hamish Macbeth fan, I've been watching and requesting for years that Audible.Com complete the series for us in the US. They were missing books 16-18 and 20 and the later books were by a male narrator--forget the name but it isn't the one you have--and the first 15 by Davina Porter. Then, out of the blue, the Porter narrations disappeared and another different narrator slowly began appearing to replace some--stil not your one I think--but those same missing ones have still never shown up as of my last check. M. C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin series is in the same shape with missing titles and numerous narrators. sighs* Last time I checked, the Davina Porter narrations were beginning to show up again... who knows what'll happen next.
Is it just me? Yesterday Audible Download and Audible Manager both started acting up - again! I'm working on a Win7 PC. I re-installed both in the last couple of months, and things were working OK. Then yesterday I started getting error messages in both programs, and only the 2nd part (of say, a 2-part book) would actually get downloaded, when I'd set both to download. Today Audible Manager started freezing up; I was trying to upload a couple of books from my PC to my Sansa player while other books were downloading from the website. arrrrgggh! And, dear Audible, could you please add an option to Audible Manager so that it can be set NOT to automatically transfer all downloads from the site to a player that might be connected. Please? Thanks.
That is a pity, Jeanie. I hate the idea of having to purchase a CD from the U.S. just to complete an audio series. I so enjoy this series, and have been recommending it; such a disappointment to learn of its history.

Just to add to my disappointment, the email I sent to the address provided was bounced back. My impressions of Audible are now diminishing.
I notice Audible added an extra dot at the end of uk - did you copy and paste what they incorrectly posted? Just curious :-)
I checked when it bounced back, no full stop.I have posted an image here: https://www.goodreads.com/photo/user/...
Bizarre. I hope Audible can explain this!
Please bear in mind that our Audible rep here is based in the USA, and has no real ability to deal with other Audible site issues, specifically.

Hey Deano,
Sorry that our app keeps crashing on you. We had some bugs from v.2.1 that we fixed with our most recent update of v.2.1.1.
Can you make sure you have v.2.1.1. installed on your device?
Let us know if it continues to crash.

Hey Ancestral,
Sorry the email bounced back. We tested if there was an issue with the email by sending content_uk@audible.co.uk and did not receive the bounce back. So, not sure why it bounced back for you.
We agree with Stelleri in using the main Customer Care email for your request and please include that your original email to their content request team bounced back: customercare@audible.co.uk
Thanks for understanding!
Since the latest iOS update (the bright white version -- which is also annoying), the Audible app crashes on me frequently, especially if I have the app open when I turn off the screen or close my cover. I never had such a problem with previous versions.
I must say I also don't like the stark white theme of the new version. It's very bright and makes the text harder to read. It also contrasts starkly with the screens under the "me" section, which are all still black.HBJ
I just want to thank Audible for fixing the download status feature in the library. Until very recently it was maybe 5% accurate at best, but now it seems to be 100% accurate. I can tell because I download all of my books, so all of them should be marked with the green checkmark icon, which they now are.I know we GR Audible customers have a lot of additional functionality we keep requesting for the library and wish list, but for now I'll choose to be thankful that this existing feature now works.

I just looked to see what version I'm on, as I believe this one is set to update automatically. I'm on version 1.5.7. Interesting...my phone's less than 6 months old (Samsung Galaxy S5), so I assumed I'd be on the latest version or pretty close, but apparently not. Since it works great, I'll just keep it this way for awhile. :)
Simply cannot understand why availability is so different between the UK site and the US site. There are several titles on the US site I would like that are simply not available on the UK site. I'm not really up for a separate membership on the US site - not least because of the transaction fees this would involve for me - so is there any way of resolving this?
Without getting into things too deeply, this is definitely not going to be "resolved". Copyright laws being different in each country, separate agreements need to be negotiated for the same title. In some cases, a deal can be reached fairly quickly in both places, sometimes the other ("foreign") one takes time to hammer out, and unfortunately, sometimes it's determined in the "other" country that either there wouldn't be enough demand to look into extra rights, or that the author/publisher is asking too high a price. We all know how incredibly frustrating that situation can be, but I ask that this thread not extend such a discussion further. Thanks!
I DID "blindly update" all my apps after finally managing to download iOS 8. I learned my lesson. From now on I check reviews on the App Store first.
Blindly updated Audible App and now it won't stay open. I guess they realize they have a problem -worked with support and they fixed it - for about 10 minutes. Hope the fix is coming fast!!! Hate my commute with my books!
Just read the warning on the app. Have to switch to Airplane Mode before opening and then can listen normally. Of course, no one can call you!! Fix on the way!
I did the update and the airplane mode method, but is there any way to keep the app open to change books when one finishes?

For some reason my audio books that were marked "finished" at one time are now showing up in my library as unfinished. This happened about a month ago & I ended up having to re-download each one and re-mark it as finished and then delete from my devise. With 500+ audiobooks, this takes A LOT of time. Now, a month later, I see I'm having this issue again... Is there an easier way to mark these as finished so they don't show up in my unfinished library listing? And/Or is this some mass error that will eventually be corrected by an updated version?
Hmmm. I've never had to re-download a book to tag it as finished. I use the Android app and all I have to do is press on the book and select the tag as finished option.
I have the iPhone app and haven't see that feature before but I'll definitely check that out - thanks!
I have the same issue. It's annoying. However, in the iPhone app you can now press the cover for a second and an option will pop up to mark the book finished.
Hope that helps.

I agree, it is very annoying and time-consuming. I really wish this information could be saved to the cloud so it could be retained across devices or when errors log one out. It is very annoying, but I have been complaining about this for a LONG time without a fix.
One tip: if you tap and hold on a title in your library, you get a menu where you can mark as finished without downloading (at least in the iOS app, not sure about Android).
Are there changes to the content available to certain countries?Amy Poehler's audiobook is being promoted as an October pick, but when I click it from the home page, I get the message "We're sorry. Due to publishing rights restrictions, we are not authorized to sell this item in the country where you live." (Canada)
I haven't seen this message on Audible before. If I click on her name as author, the page will tell me "no results for the keyword".
I also was looking for Tana French's Dublin Murder Squad and only 1 and 5 are available. I thought the entire series was available earlier, but perhaps I'm mistaken. If I search for the title of the second novel in the series "The Likeness", both "The Likeness" and "The Likeness Unabridged" appear in the dropdown menu, but clicking either will give me back the "no results found" page. Then why the heck are they in the drop-down menu?
Is Audible buggy, or are these separate issues, or the same issue of publishing rights restrictions? Anyone know?
Just tried searching for The Likeness in an incognito window and could find it on Audible, but not when I am logged into my account.

Could be a publishing rights issue or that the site is buggy. Sometimes I can get a similar message by clicking on the title in my wishlist, but then when I click on the picture it will open the page for me to purchase the book. If you try several ways though and still get the message, then it's probably a rights issue.

Hey Blackbird,
We're sorry this title is not available to you.
At this time, it is available everywhere except countries part of British Commonwealth as per the publisher's request.
If you are not located within the British Commonwealth, this may be an error, so please let us know at "social-support@audible.com".
We apologize for any inconvenience.

The reason you weren't able to install v.16 is because we are slowly it rolling out to ensure all bugs are fully resolved before it becomes available to everyone. Right now, only 5-10% of Android users will have this v.1.6, but we hope to have this version available to all shortly!
Thanks for your patience.
I want to download Audible books to my computer as mp3 books. I was doing that, but now they are downloading into itunes. I'm not sure why the change happened. Mp3 format allows me the flexibility to use a variety of playback methods, and then I have the book I bought on my computer in case Audible goes POOF. Thanks.

We look forward to helping you.
All my audible books download as mp3s. They download into audible manager AND into Windows Media Player. I didn't set up anything to make that happen it's just the way it's always been. Maybe it's because I don't have itunes.
