Hey Carole,

We have already contacted the publisher about this audio issue and One Plus One is going to be re-mastered.

Please email us at "social-support@audible.com", so we can let you know when the newly mastered audiobook is ready for download.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Christine Morgan | 14 comments If I send a book request to audible how will I know if a book is in audio or will become available in audio? Do they email back to say which books will be offered and which won't?

Angie (angiemb) | 231 comments Christine wrote: "If I send a book request to audible how will I know if a book is in audio or will become available in audio? Do they email back to say which books will be offered and which won't?"

They will usually send you an email saying thanks for the request and that they will check into it, but you won't hear back again about it.

message 956: by Christine (new)

Christine Morgan | 14 comments So how do you find out if the books your requesting will become available? Isn't that kind of a waste of time?

Angie (angiemb) | 231 comments Christine wrote: "So how do you find out if the books your requesting will become available? Isn't that kind of a waste of time?"

It basically makes them aware that a particular book is sought after in audiobook form. I do think they follow up on book requests, they just don't let you know what's happening. That probably would be time consuming to keep up with everyone that requested a book and then let them know it's coming out. I've requested many books over the years and it's always a surprise if some become available. Many have been released through Audible though, so my requests might have helped one or two be made.

Jeanie | 4024 comments I'll repeat myself in light of the above comments... Audible, please, please, please, develop a "Notify Me when" feature that sends me an email when any new book by an author I designate or a specific title becomes available! I get notices when something on my Wish List is in a sale or the Daily Deal for the day, therefore I know such notifications are possible. Also, Amazon.Com has such a feature and it doesn't seem to be a problem. I hate having to search Audible regularly just to see if a desired title has shown up and for some reason it always irks me when I discover a title I've been eagerly awaiting has actually already been on Audible for a couple of weeks. Please, Audible, give me a little help in spending my money on your site more promptly!

I so agree a Notify Me option would be wonderful. I've never gotten an email saying a book on my wishlist is on sale (though I haven't been on audible long). Oh while i'm here might I ask how does one know if a sale is going on? Reading this thread i've found out there are sales that only show up if you have 2 or more credits? I've always used my credit the moment I get it.

message 960: by Jeanie (new)

Jeanie | 4024 comments Lots of the sales on Audible use credits only: BOGO, Buy 3 for 2 credits, or even Buy 4 for 3 credits. Obviously, you have to have at least the minimum number of credits to take part in the sale, so only members with enough credits get notified. Sometimes they offer a special deal to buy 3 extra credits at a good price... often a sign that a special sale that uses credits will be coming up soon.

If a title is listed under Coming Soon it will also show up if searched for using its title or under the author's name with the pre-order button... this is my experience at least.

message 962: by Laura (last edited Aug 04, 2014 10:58AM) (new)

Laura R | 45 comments I really wish that the Audible app could display a series in order. I find it really annoying that I have to look them up first on Goodreads or even Audible's website in order to read the series in order on my phone. That seems relatively basic, but if the feature exists I can't find it...

message 963: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 1546 comments I agree Laura! Drives me batty. Amazon is also not good at series listings -- I always end up coming here to Goodreads!

message 964: by Jeanie (new)

Jeanie | 4024 comments There's much I love about Audible, but how it manages the Library isn't one of them. They spend far too much time with superficial changes to the web site that they tell themselves will improve sales--it has actually caused me to buy less because the information is less readily available. For example, no Add to Cart buttons on series pages means I often tell myself I'll look at it later rather than clicking that button and just dropping it in the Cart--so I foget to go back to buy it. Or, another example, I used to read the New in Fiction section at least weekly to see what was new and hot out there, but now I have to go through so much junk to get to it I no longer bother. By "junk" I mean things like recommendations based on my Amazon purchases--I use Amazon to buy paper books for family members who have very different tastes than I do--or recs based on my wish List that usually are of books much later in a series than the one on my Wish List... really? they think they need to recommend a series I'm following by suggesting the later books?

It's so frustrating that Audible, with great Customer Service and lots of good products, doesn't focus on meeting any needs after purchas, such as improving the Library, or keeps diddling with the web site so that useful features get dumped in favor of bells and wistles only tech geeks love and customers can't benefit from. Sigh, rant over... for today.

message 965: by Michael (new)

Michael (mobe1969) | 463 comments I agree Jeanie. I'm not sure what drives the development prioritisation.

On the cart, anyone else had their cart suddenly empty? I've had it happen about 4 times, and it was generally with Whispersync titles I had the kindle versions for, but I'd forgotten to add to my wishlist, and then I had to try remember what they were...

I wonder if there is any way (amazon or audible) of seeing which kindle books you have that have whispersync available but not gotten, and vice versa.

message 966: by Stacy (new)

Stacy Boyles (cwf1965) | 162 comments There definitely is a way because I have had it match all of my books with the ones that have whisper sync. It shows you how much it costs and you can buy it at
that time. Someone here will tell you how.

message 967: by Verena (new)

Verena (pidgeon92) | 60 comments I agree that neither Amazon nor Audible is any good at listing series'. I always check with the website http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/ when delving into any series.

message 968: by John, Moderator (new)

John | 3948 comments Are you guys talking about the app, or the website? At the website, they seem to try to list series, though perhaps not as efficiently or consistently as ideally possible.

Angie (angiemb) | 231 comments Michael, here's the link to Matchmaker that shows which kindle books you own that have whispersync. I'm not convinced that it lists everything. It always seems like there are some missing, but I haven't really checked that closely.

Well said!

I am often frustrated by the Library non-functions. I only search on my Win7 PC. Like you I have a lot of books, and I hate trying to find books without having to scroll through the whole list. I get so frustrated with the search function that won't let me search for part of a title. And that even when you have a search keyword that Audible accepts, hitting Enter doesn't start the search.

Hello, Audible, are you listening???

message 973: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 2212 comments I myself have more frustration with the lack of functions in the wish list than the library, if I had to choose, but I would love more functionality to be added to both, please.

Laura R | 45 comments John wrote: "Are you guys talking about the app, or the website? At the website, they seem to try to list series, though perhaps not as efficiently or consistently as ideally possible."

My original rant was about the app. On the iOS version, at least, my only sort options are recent/title/author/length. If you sort by author, I'm not sure what the secondary sorting is but I think it's by title.

message 975: by Margaret (new)

Margaret | 316 comments I used to visit Audible's old website every day just to browse for fun. Since they jazzed it up I now go only to check my wish list or look up a book or author, about once or twice a week.

- Wishlist management
- Library management

Sort those and you'll be heroes here!

Thank you, Audible, for listening. I'm a small user compared to some of the folks here, who renew their platinum memberships several times a year, and buy lots more at sales. They are the best sales force and advertising method possible, so everything should be done to keep them happy!

message 979: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Turner (plainkayla) | 17 comments Something that bothers me is when I switch between the Audible app on my Windows 8 (where I listen most of the day during work) and my Audible app for my Iphone (or Ipad) the tracker does not count the time listened on my computer.
This means that despite my having listened to a 20 hour book I am not being credited for that time and haven't been credited a badge because of it.
It may be a minor annoyance, but I really like being able to accurately monitor my listening time.

message 980: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) I wish there was a way to sort your library by books "unfinished" like I can do on my iPhone audible app. It helps to see books you haven't read yet.

I also wish there was a way to say"not interested" or "already own" on their recommended based on you rated books list.

message 981: by Margaret (new)

Margaret | 316 comments Ezinwanyi, I'm with you on the wish for a way to say, "not interested, or "already own" on Audible's recommended books list. I see the same recommendations month after month.

message 982: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) | 208 comments I'm sorry if this has been mentioned already - but it would be super if my Audible iPhone app told me the progress I've made on a book in precentage done (as well as minutes left). It'd just be easier to update my progress on GR, and give me a sense of accomplishment on what I've already finished as opposed to feeling like I've been listening for four days and there are still 11 hours left.

Am I making any sense? I haven't had any caffeine today.

Stelleri | 13 comments I've previously written directly to Audible about this, with no response after many months. On April 1st, I bought To the Ends of the Earth: Pentecostalism and the Transformation of World Christianity, which still has no cover image. The book has a cover, and this is an Audible Studios book, so I really don't understand why there's no cover image.

message 984: by Bill (Just a) (new)

Bill (Just a) | 911 comments Stelleri, you can grab the image from amazon. Just google most of the title in quotes and then click the "images" tab of your browser. You can download the image. If you are using ITunes, you can then import the image yourself.

Not sure if that helps you, but I often download artwork and use them in ITUNES for covers.

message 985: by John, Moderator (new)

John | 3948 comments The other way to do this would be to download the Audible picture directly to one's hard drive, re-label it "cover", and then add a copy to the book's file folder on one's device. I believe that the cover will only appear if you do that BEFORE opening the book for the first time. I have this issue when Audible books are transferred to the card drive on my Cowon player; they show just fine if sent to the internal memory.

message 986: by Stelleri (last edited Aug 21, 2014 09:13AM) (new)

Stelleri | 13 comments Thanks. Audible has no picture for this title. Bill, it's a good work-around, but my question is really why Audible still has no image for the book cover.

John | 3948 comments Stelleri wrote: "Thanks. Audible has no picture for this title. Bill, it's a good work-around, but my question is really why Audible still has no image for the book cover."

In that case, I'd use a picture from a copy of the print book. Probably, Audible couldn't agree on a final deal with the person holding the rights to the artwork by the time the audiobook was released.

MissSusie | 2430 comments And again the second Outlander book Dragonfly in Amber stops working with 12 hours left, the exact same time Outlander stopped working. I believe these files are too big to be one huge file I would love an option to download chapters or multiple parts like we used to be able to do. I have tried removing and re-downloading but it still freezes up at 12 hours left no matter what I try. Audible please help!!
