Harry Potter. They are kinda opposites (ones dragons the other is wizards) but if uve read the Inheritance Cycle u must read Harry Potter and vice versa.

message 4: by Asterion (new)

Asterion (Yimsel) | 128 comments It's kind of like the concept of the dragon choosing the rider. In Harry Potter, the wand chooses the wizard. Wand and dragons both choose their hosts

Asterion (Yimsel) | 128 comments One similar book is the Icewind dale trilogy.

Are you guys fans of Harry Potter?????
Especially after reading so many books like Eragon, The Lord of The Rings, and such!
Writing style comparison? Magic having no physical impact on you?

Asterion (Yimsel) | 128 comments OMG ARE YOU KIDDING ME
sorry, I've read and reread and reread and reread every single Harry Potter book, including screenplay, parody and side stories. I'm in like four Harry Potter groups.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Yah, a lot of people answer along those lines. Why do you like it?

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I love Harry Potter!!!!!! But I love the Inheritance Cycle more. :)

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Yah me to!!! By a most considerable margine!!!

message 11: by Asterion (new)

Asterion (Yimsel) | 128 comments I like potter cuz I LOVE MAGIC AND SPELLS
Also, Harry's a really relatable character

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Yah, but the magic!!! It is horrible. Do de do, I am going to bow up the word! NO drain on my strength!! That is the main reason that I do not care for Rowling. What do you guys think about this?

message 14: by Asterion (new)

Asterion (Yimsel) | 128 comments Yeah I agree. Like, in book seven (deathly hollows) Crabbe is firing off the strongest spell, Avada kedavera, over and over and it makes no sense! It makes me think that all one would have to do to beat someone in a wizard duel is repeatedly cast stupefy until the other gives up from boredom. To be fair, though, in book three when Harry is trying to learn the patronus, it drains him. Then he eats chocolate and he's all better.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh. I have only read the first one. And that was because I had to read it for school.

message 16: by Asterion (new)

Asterion (Yimsel) | 128 comments Read them man!! They are pretty good, if you ignore the unlimited magic.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmmm. Unlikely but.....

message 18: by Asterion (new)

Asterion (Yimsel) | 128 comments It's your choice. I recommend them, but the magic is annoying

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Agreed. I love how there's power and energy behind the magic in Eragon but there's none in HP. It's just magic.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Real MAGIC is what Eragon uses. Willing something to change, energy used to form that change. No offense to Rowling, but she took away Magic from Magic, if that makes any sense.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes I agree.
