Welcome Shona. Does your home in Western Australia influence your writing? Does it ever act as a muse or provide inspiration?
Yes, especially for the Face the Music series as it is set in Fremantle, WA. WA is a very large state with a low population, lots of mining, wine regions and tourism. Hot summers, mild winters, & lots of surf (which is great if you aren't a pale, freckly red-head who burns in 10 mins)It is very different to where I grew up (Tasmania way down the bottom of Australia). While I've set a few stories in Australia I have also set some in London or the US (I have visited both places).
