What was that thing at King's Cross...?

Hoxcruxes are parts of Voldermort's soul, if I am not mistaken. Not trying to convince anyone, though.

Yes it was.. I always thought it was the Human part of Voldemort's soul, you know the love and forgiveness part. That he had no idea about..

i thought that it was the part of Voldemort that harry killed when he let Voldemort kill him . because the first time Voldemort tried to kill Harry he lost a peace of his soul and that peace lached to the only living thing there which was Harry, so Harry became a Horcrux and when Harry let Voldemort kill him Voldemort killed harry and that part of his own soul. so that thing in kings cross is a peace of voldemort's soul .

I really want to make it simple. Harry's is a Horcrux (a host carrying Voldermort's incomplete soul: Naruto, anyone?), yes. But what is inside the Horcrux? Voldermort's soul (incomplete, a partial, whatsoever, it is still a soul). And therefore, by killing Harry, Voldermort miss the fact that he is detaching his soul from Harry.
And so, to sum it up; The ugly creature is Voldermort's soul.
But I find this question really interesting; Why was J.K. portrayed that soul as "ugly"?
My personal answer: Because it reflects Voldermort. The good side of him, which is born with him, are diminishing, ignored, isolated, etc. J.K. is basically (maybe) making a statement; "This is the corrupted nature of Voldermort's soul which supposedly makes him a human. And look at it; it's not human already."
PS: I only read the last book and not in English. Sorry if I have mistakes in my opinion.

Um, Malay? I don't know if you have heard of it. But I kind of skeptical to read that book, but when I compared it with the English one, it did (and still does) not seems that bad. I mean, I understand the emotions better than the original one.
So, I speak mostly in Malay and sometimes English. But I don't know if this counted, but I can speak Indonesian Malay, Minang dialect and kind of understand Kerinchi dialect.
@ Gabrielle
I know.

The thing at King's Cross was what was left in Voldemort. Both Harry and Voldemort went to the King's Cross place--but Harry was fine because his soul was whole, and Voldemort was an ugly, senseless little thing because that's what the last of his soul was like. Remember how Voldemort got knocked down when Harry did in the forest? In King's Cross, we saw how different their souls were.

I agree re your P.S.! Seems like another moment where Harry's instincts are better, and kinder, than Dumbledore's.

PS: I disagree with Albus's view of "don't pity the dead" thing.
