What happens when the immovable object collides with the unstoppable force?

message 54: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Ah, I love that question! The laws of Physics are violated and a singularity opens up.

I always argue that the question is flawed. The immovable object is only immovable because objects are deflected around it, and that the unstoppable force is only unstoppable because it changes its path the avoid such collisions.

Maybe the immovable object is in certain universes causing sort of a doorstop making a rift between the universes causing all things coming at it to be thrown somewhere else.

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments That was the whole conversation going over my head.

message 59: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
What does that mean?

message 60: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Nevermind.
Do you think that whenever they asked George Washington for ID he just pulled out a quarter?

message 61: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
They didn't have Identification back then, and if they did, no.

What is wrong?

message 64: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments If corn oil comes from corn, were does baby oil come from?

message 65: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Laszlo wrote: "What is wrong?"

These questions aren't supposed to have logical answers.

message 66: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Not babies, but from different ingredients. I can read the ingredients list for baby oil and post ingredients, if you would like.

message 67: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
I said 'ingredients' too much.

message 68: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments No, it's fine.

But in all of my few years, I have gathered enough information for some of these questions to have logical answers.

message 70: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Sorry.

message 71: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments It's fine.

message 72: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Can someone else post a paradoxical question, please?

message 73: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Why does anything even matter?

message 74: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Because we make it so.

message 75: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
What do you mean?

message 76: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments If you take a carrot, and you love it and care for it and it matters to YOU, then even though it will play no major role in anything, really, it matters.

message 77: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Ok, this this is what I am going to ask because of that.
There is a sick child who is going to die, but you save the child with medicine.
Why?

message 78: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
Think about it.

message 79: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments If right and wrong matter to you, then you will save the child. If the child itself matters to you, you will save it. If the fate of the world depends on this child surviving and you care about the fate of the world, then you will save it.

message 80: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
What is wrong about not saving the child or the world?

message 81: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments The human lives in the balance.

message 82: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
In what balance? What is wrong about death? We have this giant mindset that certain things are right or wrong, which we could easily change. Nothing matters.

message 83: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Even if that is true, I choose not to believe it, as it is without a doubt the most depressing mindset one could have.

message 84: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
I know. Eventually the question comes to, "If this is life, what is its meaning?"

message 85: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments That is your choice.

message 90: by Laszlo, The Professor (new)

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
In what?

message 91: by John (new)

John The Totally Awesome | 322 comments Something meaningful. For me it's God. For you it might be something else.

Laszlo (steampunk) | 1849 comments Mod
