Grace Meredith (koreantrash) @Katie, I'll join you on those threads and try to get the books in time.

@Sarah, I'd love to read The Duff with you! When were you thinking?

Nicole - Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die- | 881 comments Those dates works fine for me Katie and same also cause I'm also going on vacation in the first two weeks in July

When is the best time for you to start? I have it loaned on my Kindle through my library and the loan expires in 11 days.

Katie | 1999 comments @Lit Lover and Nicole, I'll work on setting up threads now.

message 10256: by Grace Meredith (new)

Grace Meredith (koreantrash) @Sarah, I guess this won't work out for me then, because I'm going on vacation in four days, and there are eight people ahead of me on the eBook holds. I was thinking more late July...

message 10257: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (simplysarah13) | 315 comments Ahh I may not be able to do that. I think someone has a hold on it after me. Once it expires, they will get it. I could turn it in and then put a hold on it. Or even check the libraries...

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Trisha, any chance you can read Return to the Dark House (Dark House, #2) by Laurie Faria Stolarz August 1 since I start back to school on August 3? It comes out July 21.

Of course, anyone is welcome if you read book 1.

Trisha | 30284 comments **************************

For those of you with buddy reads:

I've tried cleaning up the "in progress" area so it doesn't have so many threads (finding completed or abandoned and moving them out)

but If I moved one you were still working on, just let me know (you can post in the thread) and I'll get it moved back into "in progress"

If I moved it, I either sent it to Archived or Duplicate/Abandoned

:)

You will LOVE her. Most of them are standalone. However, like Sarah Dessen's novels, some of them sort of slightly tie into one another. But you can definitely read them by themselves. I have been reading them as they came out and so I've sort of picked that up.

I know how you feel! It'll be back to high school for me on August 3...as the teacher! LOL I never say work; I always say school. I don't know why. But if I ever say I have school tomorrow, I mean work. LOL

message 10295: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (simplysarah13) | 315 comments @Vicki I know what you mean. My parents work with school too, so I know all about it. They dread the 4th of July because that just means orientation, trainings, meetings, and back to school...lol

message 10296: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Haha! I have a few summer rules: 1) no prepping; 2) no discussing next fall; 3) relax my brain! Lol

message 10297: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (simplysarah13) | 315 comments Yes! I'm a junior in college and that's how I feel. No prepping until I have to.

message 10298: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Haha! I remember my college days after finals feeling like my brain was literally fried from all the studying! LOL

message 10299: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (simplysarah13) | 315 comments I know! I feel like that after reading the textbooks! Normally I work part time as a work study in the library during the semester. I get to see all the new books, DVDs, and CDs. I security strip the books, stamp them with the ownership stamp, and do the call # labeling on the spines of the books. I also do Mylar covering and also take care of recycling items that are withdrawn from the library. During the summer, I work full time until school starts back.Right now I work 4 days a week. I'll be a junior in the fall. I'm pre-law, but I am a social work major. I recently was accepted into my school's program--we had to apply in order to take our higher level classes. There were 30 spots open at my school out of 120. The program is at 3 other campuses besides mine so that's why there were 30 spots. I have to do practicum hours with my major. 120 hours next spring and 400 before I graduate. I was so stressed out this past semester because of applying, but I keep my grades up and work hard in my classes. I barely have any time for myself during the semester. What time I do have for myself, I have to make. That's why I'm not as well-read as I'd like to be during the semester... Lol

message 10300: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Sarah, you are very wise to focus on your studies while in college! I remember those days and it isn't easy to fit in anything else, and in my case I was going through a divorce and had five children to raise, so I scheduled all my classes during their school hours.

What made my college days even more "fun" is that I had NO CAR for a year-and-a-half! Plus my refrigerator burned (caught fire) up and I had no refrigeration for nearly 6 months. I had to walk every day for milk, etc. and used an ice chest. I also had no washer/dryer so I had to go to a laundromat. That was hard because my family lived over 300 miles away, so I had to hand wash things when I couldn't get a ride from a friend and you know how we hate imposing on others! It was humbling to say the least.

Because of all that and more I lived the motto "you just do what you gotta do and get 'er done!" I have no mercy on students whose dogs ate their homework! Lol
