Gisbelle | 25787 comments Vicki and Trisha, here are some I think might be good:
The Fall by Bethany Griffin Of Monsters and Madness by Jessica Verday Dog Days by Joe McKinney Fiendish by Brenna Yovanoff Ghost House by Alexandra Adornetto Feral by Holly Schindler

Not horror, but they look good :)

I think my favorite from this list is
The Fall by Bethany Griffin

man that looks so good (and based on Edgar Allen Poe story!! :D)

message 7156: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Trisha, Awesome! I think I can start on Thursday or Friday.

message 7157: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments I can too!
want me to make a thread??

message 7158: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments I think they all look good, too; however, for our Halloween read I think one of these sounds the freakiest: The Fall by Bethany Griffin or Dog Days by Joe McKinney

But of course I will read whatever you two would like!

message 7159: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments I think The Fall is the best among those too :) I love Edgar Allen Poe! I read Black Cat years ago and I was so scared of our cat because he was so much the same as the cat in the book. And he loved following me around too lol

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Dog Day also sounds scary :D

message 7162: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments I love Poe too! He was an amazing heart-stopping writer!

It does! did you guys see the author's other books? Gory zombie stuff :D lol

message 7166: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Vicki wrote: "I love Poe too! He was an amazing heart-stopping writer!"

Yeah, I've read most of his books. Tell-tale Heart and Black Cat are my favorite ones :)

message 7167: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Trisha, you and those zombie books hehe

message 7168: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Trisha, I did see those. The first thing I did was look up the author's other books and ratings to see how well people rated them. LOL

I think we can't go wrong with The Fall, but I'll have to buy it. My library will never have it by time we're going to read it (if we choose that one), if they get it at all. LOL

I have to vote for Tell-tale Heart, BUT I also love The Cask of Amontillado!

message 7170: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments That one is also good :)

message 7171: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Gis and Trisha, have we decided on our Halloween book or shall we take a vote? LOL

Looks like Trisha's favorite is The Fall by Bethany Griffin and we (Gis and I) both love Poe, so it sounds like a winner.

message 7172: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Let's go with that one then :D

I love it! Yes! let's go with that one!
I think I'll have to buy it too :)

message 7174: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments I saw that one at Edelweiss and at that time I didn't request an ARC. When I went back maybe a few weeks later to request, it had been removed :/
Anyway, I think most libraries will have it by then :D

message 7175: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments So is it The Fall? And when do we want to set it up?

message 7176: by Gisbelle (last edited Sep 16, 2014 08:50PM) (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments One day before or on Halloween is fine with me.

message 7177: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm palnning on reading these books in October. Does anyone want to join me?
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury Asylum (Asylum, #1) by Madeleine Roux ] The Complete Stories and Poems by Edgar Allan Poe Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid

message 7178: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Gis, I think Oct. 30 will work better for me. I get home from work about 3:30 and kids start around 5:00-5:30 here and go till 8:30 or 9:00. I'd probably only get a little read on Halloween itself.

message 7179: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments I'm good either day!

message 7180: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Great, we'll see what Gis says. I'm pretty sure she can do the 30th because she said either Halloween or the day before. If it were the weekend (Saturday or Sunday) I'd say the day of, but I know what Halloween is like where I live...up and down, up and down...all night! LOL

message 7181: by Vicki (last edited Sep 16, 2014 09:37PM) (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Tana, I am really booked up for October, but if you can wait to read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and Asylum (Asylum, #1) by Madeleine Roux until November, I'll read those with you.

message 7182: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Trisha and Gis, I am going to go ahead and set up the thread for us for the 30th. If that turns out not to work for any reason, we can change it later. I'm just excited to get it up there. I LOVE our Halloween reads!

message 7183: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (readingwithmanda) @Tana I can also read Asylum (Asylum, #1) by Madeleine Roux with you but not until November I am all booked for October.

I've already read .4, but I may be able to read the other two with you.

I may need you to point out which book you're referring to with Uninvited though.
