I've never tried, but I know when I read a book that takes place in a new setting I want to see deatils. Some authors can go overboard with this, like Tolkien, but sometimes, that's okay. Personally I think Middle Earth is one of the most intriguing worlds in fiction.

I think it is important to consider how the world and the story fit together. Any difference between the story world and our own is going to have some effect on other aspects of the story: it may affect how the characters think and relate to each other and to the environment, what kind of problems they might face, what the range of possible reponses and resolutions to those problems are, what kinds of bodies, dwellings, food, and religion they might have - ideally, the world elements and the story elements should fit together logically and seamlessly.
Well,If no one has anything further to add, it's been fun! Again, I thank each and every one of you for the comments and participation. If everyone is willing and able, it would be nice if you could leave a rating for the book on the official goodreads Relics and Wonders: Lombard's Amulet page (if you haven't already). Thanks again! I hope everyone enjoyed the discussion and more so, I hope everyone enjoyed the book. Until next month. Happy Halloween and Happy reading!
Sorry I've been lax, Kevin. I'll have my review (great job by the way!) posted everywhere I have an account!
