If something strikes you while reading, a quote an idea, please share.

Additionally, once you've finished please record any general impressions or thoughts on the book. You can also use this space for post-discussion reflections. If you haven't finished the book yet be warned, there probably are spoilers!

I've heard some scary things about the length and format of this book, but I'm still eager to give it a shot. I'm hoping I can get through enough of it before book club for it to be fairly judged. If not, I might have to find one of those nifty podcasts to help me out :)

started it last night

Kevin (kevineagan) | 11 comments I'm really enjoying this book so far. At first, I was kind of confused about its purpose/direction, but now that I'm in the third section, it makes more sense.

For those who are unsure of this novel, I'll say it's the type of novel you'll understand better 100 pages in. It makes sense once you see that these are a series of separate stories connected in some loose way over the course of time. I can't wait to see what direction it takes me as I keep reading.

Amanda I agree with Kevin. Through most of the first 2 stories I was confused and kind of bored but once you get further into the book, connections start to be made and it gets better. I'm also excited to see how everything comes together.

Michael Mariano (eluse9) | 1 comments I'm at about the 2/3 mark. I agree it's starts slow and the language makes it a little difficult, but once it gets moving, it is compelling. I've now finished the furthest chronological section and am working backwards in time assuming it will go in direct reverse order (I haven't peaked). I want to hear how the rest of the stories end, but am disappointed that I know how the book (story, arc?) ends having finished the furthest part in time. The stories matter less coming back down *spoiler*( although I'm interested to see how Luisa survived, but now I know she did)

Nicole | 4 comments I agree. I'm a fast reader, and it took me an hour to get through 20 pages, so I was getting pissed off. But now in the third section, it's been going super fast and I really like it.

Amanda You guys have got to plow through it because the book gets REALLY interesting (especially the futuristic stuff).

Due to Amanda's urging I picked it back up. The story with the music composer is quite good. I just watched the extended trailer for the movie, however, and am blown away. What motivation to get thru this now. Can't wait to see the film!!!

Kevin (kevineagan) | 11 comments Yeah, I'm into the futuristic stuff now, and the language and use of syntax from the character in this section is amazing. Reminds me of Clockwork Orange, sort of. This is becoming one of my new favorite books.

Here is nice summary should some of you not get finished in time, or if you just need a recap.
