Adding title to a Goodreads author

What is the proper etiquette for adding a totally new title (not an edition or cover variant) when the author is a Goodreads author?

I have this ebook (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/dusty...), but can't find any edition of it here.

Should I try messaging the author, or is it OK to just go ahead and add it?

It's fine to add it. Many GR Authors don't maintain their own catalogs here. (Just remember that we can't take info from B&N or other booksellers so you should create the book record based on your actual book, including cover image.)
