Tina Carreiro | 5 comments Hi, I need help! My book is under a new publishing house and I need that added with the correct data pulled in. Example: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/power...

Once added, I need them all combined so only the new version is showing and I don't want to lose my comments. Here's the main page for the book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...

Can you help, please?

lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments Tina, we are unable to use bookseller data, so if you could provide the data asked for in this thread, we will add it for you. Also please see this thread for more info on which edition is shown to be primary.

Thank you. I guess I can do that adding myself. I just thought there was something magical you could do to pull all the info in. :) But for the other versions, can they be combined into one?

lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments Oh yes. As the author you should be able to combine them yourself. Or you could just post here and one of us will do it.

Tina Carreiro | 5 comments OKay, will I lose comments? Somehow I've already dropped 6 reviews since I opened this thread... lol Ironic.

Hmmm... Odd. No you shouldn't lose any reviews.
ETA: Oh, I forgot. There is a cache on the reviews page, so when anything changes some of the reviews may appear "lost". What happened was I merged a duplicate earlier today, and the cache may not have reset yet. They should be back in 24-48 hours.

Tina Carreiro | 5 comments Yes, it is odd.

I'm afraid I'm going to mess this up. I added the new edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...

So now I not only need to combine, but I need to get all the comments linked with the new one. Here is what's on the link tab: http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...

If I click combine, I just afraid it's going to wipe everything out.

lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments So I just combined it, and you can see that none of the reviews are gone. There are two separate terms that Goodreads uses; one is "combining", which links two or more editions together. At the end you have the same number of editions. The second is "merging", in which one edition is deleted and is merged into another edition. In this case you are less one edition.
