uh, okay? lol :P

Lindy, have you decided how many tasks you want to do? Or are you not planning ahead and are going to just see what happens? :)

1 - American Education Week

Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter - Ali is in school, as is just about every other character (mostly students, but also the principal is involved in the whole zombie thing)
2 - America Recycles Day

Julie and Julie's Wolf Pack by Jean Craighead George
Julie, after living in the tundra, surviving with help of the wolves, becomes an advocate for the wolves, especially her wolf pack. While she is back with the humans, she still is able to interact with her wolves. The 3rd book follows her wolves as their lives progress, through another generation of puppies, leaders, and life. George spends a lot of time writing advocacy for wildlife, and emphasizing the necessity of living with the land, not just on it.
2/4

Read a book where the main character is a teacher or student
Colin Preston Rocked and Rolled by Bert Murray - finished 11/06/12

I've slept during the beginning of November, it seems ... and you've all been rather productive :).
@Melanie ... What is it with zombies these days??? Was it good?

Goal: 0/2
1. American Education Week: Read a book where the main character is a teacher or a student OR tell us who your favorite teacher was in school and why.
The Passage
2. America Recycles Day: Read a book that is “green” in some way (printed on recycled paper, discusses environmental issues, or has a green cover) OR tell us about how you are being green.
I'm a vegetarian slowly transitioning into the vegan way of life. I eat local as much as possible.
3. Veteran’s Day (Remembrance Day): Read a book involving soldiers, veterans or war.
The Perfect Hope Civil War soldier/ghost
4. Event From Your Country: Tell us about an event occurring in your country in November OR (AND) read a book that has to do with that event in some way.
Challenge Completed 3/3

Zombies seem to be the new vampires! I'm really not sure why, but it is certainly making for some interesting stories!
And yeah, it was pretty interesting. Fairly typical YA novel, I think, just with the addition of zombies.

Read a book that is green in some way
Child of the Mist by Kathleen Morgan
finished 11/16

Melanie ... I know what you mean. I wish nothing was the new vampires, so everything would seem original, but zombies are alright, I guess.
Christina ... what a pretty cover! :)
--------
I myself am making no progress as I have enough events of my own over the cousre of this month (five birthdays and all), and even now I am not at home, but in Prague for a filmscore concert. (But I don't regret it, as I just met Nicholas Hooper and Ilan Eshkeri!!!)
So, everyone else - keep reading to make up for my lack of contribution ;).

I attributed it to cold winters and the need to huddle close ... your explanation is more romantic though ;).

1/2 Complete for this challenge

1/2 Complete for this challenge"
Got you updated :).

A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold

The main character is retired military, and there are a ton of other military characters in the book as well.
3/4

Starts of with a New Years celebration (I know it's more a world-wide celebration than just an event in my country, but it is certainly strongly celebrated in the U.S!)
4/4 - done!

The New Years Celebration is definitely an event, although I highly doubt it is celebrated in November. I'm not that strict however, so I will accept it :). So congrats on finishing ;).
